Default Golden eagle or Darton sleeves ????????

I am building my b18c1 block. This is going to be my street/stip car, and I am going to boost about 20 to 25 psi on it.
Which sleeves should I go with???
Darton or Golden Eagle ????
If anyone of you are using one of these let me know the pros and cons of them.
thanks

Darton. Just as good as GE, better if you ask me. A little more expensive to put in, but cheaper if you blow the motor afterwards. You can replace the hurt (single/multiple) sleeve. No need to purchase 4 new pistons, just one---since you wont have to overbore the sleeve if needed. No need to send back to GE (save on shipping). Overall any quality machine shop can do the work.....GE only works on GE sleeves.

I sell the Dartons if your interested.

Both companies make great sleeves. Personally, Darton is my sleeve of choice. GE and Darton guarantee their sleeves to withstand 40+psi without failure. Darton also has a kit that will transform your open deck setup into a closed deck one, doing away with using a block guard and adding the extra stability for your cylinders.

GE gets my vote but Im sure that either one will do the job. It will all come down to preference and what you see on all the fast cars. Thats probably a 50/50 split...

Quick question for anybody that knows...

About how much boost do you think you could run without sleeves (on a b18b1)? Thanks.

my personal opinion... i wouldn't push more than 12psi, but their are people on this board that are at about 20psi with proper tuning on stock sleeves

I ran 10 PSI on stock sleeve's for the longest time with horrid tuning. I finally wound up cracking the ring lands in 4 places on my #1 clyinder. A good hone job and I could have reused my stock sleeves. All the b-series sleeves are pretty strong. Aside from the b20, which has a really thin on piece sleeve design. St00pid has a daily driven LS hatch on 20 psi, stock block, which the addition of a block guard.

Anyways. My vote is for the Darton's. I'll be going to get my 84.5mm LS block back from the machine shop tomorrow. Just a warning tho, get a machine shop that know's what they're doing. I'm about to raise hell at the $1100 labor charge these guys are punking me with...............******* bastards

I`d go w/ GE. I like the fact that Vince, from Golden Eagle, actually participates in our discussions and is always available for questions/concerns.

exactly, i like the fact that we can easily communicate with the manufacturers. i only wish someone from Hondata would join in in our discussions.

that's also why i like buying from JDM Honda Parts. it seems like Katman makes a "cameo" appearance from time to time, just to let everyone know he's not dead.

on race gas and some good tuning you can get 19-21lbs but i know dudes doing more then that. You could boost to 26 if you want, its not that the block cant handle the pressure its just how long will it handle the pressure. Not long. And if you have any breakage on a stock block your fucked. But if you have abuilt block and something happens youll more then likely be able to bring it back to life

for the 84mm bore people:

The cylinder wall is extremely thin on a B18C block with 84mm bore.....I think it is a bad thing with high boost, but then I have no experience with 84mm bore and 22 psi of boost.

Running 18 psi daily with 12000 miles no problem on the B18C5 stock sleeves.
