Thanks guys, I didn't really make the bar for looks, although I did want it to look good.
Believe it or not it makes the whole back of my car feel much stiffer, and it seems to follow the front of the car alot better through corners. It's hard to explain, but it was instantly noticeable.
The bar itself is solid 1 1/8" dia. aluminum and I made the brackets out of 3/16" thick aluminum plate. I made templates out of thin carboard for the brackets (it was a little tricky getting the proper angles), then I traced them onto the plate, and cut it out with a scroll saw.
After cutting the pieces out, I put them in a vice, got a big hammer and a torch, heated them up and bent them. Sounds really ghetto, but it actually turned out really well.
The brackets almost look like they were cnc
The rest is pretty straight forward, get some bolts drill some holes, and install it.

i dont think more than 5 people on this board actually turn their steering wheel.. but you could probably make like 100 of those and say they're JDM and you can make a fortune.

You know, I was thinking about trying to make some to sell, but the truth of the matter is that it would probably take me too long.
Although, you do make an interesting point.. JDM c pillar bar for sale on ebay. haha.
BTW, thanks for the compliments.

PS, if anyone wants to stiffen up the rear end of their car a lot (my c pillar brace made a world of difference, I also have a rear upper and lower tie bar that I noticed hardly any difference with) go out and buy a c pillar bar, or try and make your own.
besides the whole passanger issue, I forgot to mention that it looks very professional and on par with something an aftermarket company would've developed. That being said - how much did it cost you to make it (without labor)?

AVD, thanks a lot, It cost about 30 bucks (CANADIAN) to buy the materials. The bar itself was the most expensive, I think it was about 25 bucks or so by itself.
As far as it working on a 4 door, yes, the principal behind the bar is the same. I never use my backseats, so I don't worry about passengers sitting back there. Your car might be a different story.

if there was a concern for rear passengers, could you not just move the bar a down a couple of inches on the c-pillar? (obviously you have to watch for the hatch opening thing.. ) but it looks like you could move the bar down a little bit, enough to give some head room...
remember me, i asked u for the dwg file. well damn! u weren't kidding! it is ghetto! hahahaha. still gotta give u mad props though! do u have access to a machine shop? i'm actually building some brackets on auto cad right now.
