CF hood.....we dont need no stinkin pins..or do we??
I know for the track you need to have hood pins on your CF hood..but what about a daily driver...do you guys with CF hoods suggest you use the pins for everyday driving such as highways, parkway, etc... thanks!
I think you do need them. I have seen what happen to cars that didn't use the pins and I can tell you, it looked horrible.
some actually don't use the factory latch, that's why you need them. I'd get them as just extra safetly because my friend cracked his windshield and dented part of his roof when the hood opened on him. They are light so it does lift, even at highway speeds.
on a CF hood its cheap insurance.
on my stock hood...hehe, I can watch it wobble on the way home (oh how those 35 miles go so quickly

no pins here on a VIS, iv hit 90MPH quite a few times with no wobbleyness(is that a word?) but it freeway speeds its very stable no noticable vibrations. and thats without the weather seal
no way in hell I'd put any c/f hood, regardless of make or perfection of fit, on my car WITHOUT pins. I've had a f/i hood fit perfectly on my CRX, without pins. Above 70mph, the right corner would lift a tad, then wobble. Why chance it?

yea, i have the vis hood and it wobbles past 60 (not a lot tho). I hit 90 on the freeway and it seem okay. The fitment wasnt exactly perfect in my opinion but is there anyway to keep the hood more secure without the use of hood pins? Do the 4 bolts that keep the c/f hood attached make it more secure if tightened/or lossened? Any c/f hood owner have hood locks beside hood pins?
i would recommend hood pins. on nite awile back me and my friend were dirving in his integra an crusing on the freeway at 80mph. Then all of the sudduen SMACK the hood flies up and smacks the windsheild. hood pins
