I used to have a parking permit sticker on my bumper for my previous city, but most of the goo from the sticker ended up sticking to the bumper when I pulled it off.

Anyone know what solvent would be safest on the Honda paint (circa 1997) that also cleans off bumper sticker glue?

 

WD-40 works good. And wash it after you're done with soap and water.

No it won't hurt your paint..

paint thinner. It wont do **** to factory paint. But dont go crazy

the one in the white canister looking thing.. i've removed paint scuff's on my gf's purse(like where her black purse rubbed again white painted stuff).. scuffed up shoes where paint is "stuck" to the shoe... NUMEROUS adhesive stuff.. like cd's... disks... stickers.. never had a problem.. but i never tried any other **** but this stuff works everytime!

 

 

non acetone nail polish remover. try a little you'd be surprised.

 

I got it off w/paint thinner cuz that's what I already had handy. But its good just as a reference to know what solvents are OK for cleaning the tough crap off factory paint.

I was kinda wondering the same thing also, but I guess not.

Goo-Gone is actually just a mix of a 'little bit of everything'...little acetone, little paint thinner, little turpentine, little detergent, etc. The end result is that it will clean ANYTHING with some elbow grease thrown in for good measure, but if you know specifically which solvent to use, you will get superior results with the real deal.

I'm still kinda amazed that the factory paint can handle the barrage of random chemicals in goo-gone. The only thing I've seen that really F's up Honda paint is auto paint stripper (duh!) and bird poo. I check for bird droppings every day b/c my car is parked on the street.
