B18C3 to the best of my knowledge is a spoon stamped motor which basically
comprises of a jdm sir-g shortblock with an itr head.
Not sure on this one...but hybrid.honda-perf.org and many other sites list it as the 95-97 honda ITR engine. I wouldn't think there was enough of a difference to warrant changing the designation though.
However, I've also heard that it's a spoon motor.
Do you actually own this motor? Where'd it come from? Is b18c3 what's stamped on the block?

I am 100% sure it is NOT a jdm ITR engine. No jdm factory badged honda engine
has a number after the block code. I also know of no b18c in the world that uses
the designation "3". After seeing enough of them come from spoon, it is my
estimation that they stamp the block themselves.

What about the thread-starter? Where'd you get this engine? Any info on where you got it, so forth and so on.
(Not that I don't believe sgT, I do. Just wondering how one comes upon an engine like this....)

Euro engine is B18C6 ........
Like sgT said, the JDM doesn't any numerical designation, just B18C, B16A, B16B, etc.
When did Europe first get the R? Japan got it in '95 1/2 as a '96 model ..... then we got it the next year.

I have seen 1 b18c3, it was a gsr with higher compression pistons.
It still had gsr crank, rods, head, and manifold.
If it wasn't for the stamping or the pistons I wouldn't have seen a difference.
I don't know where it came from.
