Here let me help you out if it hasnt sold.
This car is a 1990 Talon TSi AWD, meaning turbo'd and it's AWD. Cars such as this consistantly are able to pull 1.7 60' times ON STREET TIRES, I can personally vouche for that as that is what I personally pull.
With this being a 1990, it means it has the infamous 6bolt engine, meaning a literally bulletproof powerhouse. The bigger rods on this engine (from those made after 1991) mean this engine can handle 450whp RELIABLY without having any internal upgrades. The stock compression on this engine is 7.8:1 allowing for very high boost with very little knock. In addition this car comes with a 14b turbo, which can very easily hit mid 12's without much difficulty. In addition the head, intake manifold, and throttle body are all larger than the 2g DSM models. For about 1000 dollars in upgrades this car can easily hit low 13's without a problem, and be reliable about it.
As mentioned trannies are not that expensive to come by for a DSM. Even in the worst case scenario you can have a company such as TRE, http://www.Teamrip.com rebuild/build your tranny, much stronger than it ever was from stock, all for about 1200 dollars. Not too much for a very strong tranny with many upgraded features.
Imagine owning a car that had no traction problems, wet or dry, even with a 300+whp car. This car does have a few problems, but those can most likely be fixed for very little, and the potential for this car is very high.
Personally for 1500 I think it's a steal, and if I were in the area I'd probably pick it up. By the way I do not know this guy, I just thought I'd help him out, and also try to inform you guys on some of the pluses of this particular model since alot of you dont totally know about DSMs

ive got some guy in TN will sell me a tranny for 250. ive found qite a few for 500 and under, if interested, we can work on the price, btw thanks a lot 16g-95gsx for the post!
I have bought and sold quite a few DSM's as well as worked on them for the past 2 years. Trust me, there are more than enough trannies out there that go for 250-300. I have yet to see one selling for 500-700.
it is drivabel, but barley, it will go into first and second i belive, but no promises, and its hard to get it into those gears, it is drivable, but when i say drivable, pronbably down the street.... not long distances. also, i was going to fix the tranny and i started to take it apart... i took off the linkage and the clutch cables, well, i got a civic and that project stopped. i put the shift linkages back on, but the clutch cable is still diss connected.
errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i want it. But you're a ways away and I don't have a car trailer, I already have a FPBig28 and this could be my auto-x car
