Default Type R Track Videos from Thunderhill Park

Here are some quick highlights from the track day I attended on Wedneseday at Thunderhill Park. Had a lot of fun as usual, and some pretty impressive clips. Here are two short highlights of the day...I'll have a full highlight reel up sometime soon.

Right click save-as:

Playing with a new NSX (dealer plates were still on it! ) 5.3 MB

Playing with a fellow H-T member (geometro)...I think he knew the camera was rolling and wanted to give me something spectacular! 3.5 MB

That NSX seems slow in the straights...I hope it was broken in.

Awesome driving as usual

nsx obviously had an novice driver. way off line, and braking at the wrong spots. it's not the car... it's the driver. the 1st time then nsx wasn't kind enough to wave the ITR by. the 2nd time he finally let bob pass.

Seriously...if you see Bob, let me him pass otherwise he'll be like a bee on honey.

According to his self-classing he was "intermediate" Definitely driver though...I'm not delusional enough to think that my Integra is actually faster than an NSX. It was fun passing him on the front straight...guess I was carrying a bit more speed out of turn 15 than he was

I agree it would have been nice if he had let me by the first time. Instead he made me follow him all the way around track and the second time I got the better of him and made the pass. He never lifted.

I'm not in Tainan right now but I have also heard of a new testing track also. Heard it will be nice.

I don't know any good Taiwanese car boards. H-T is all I need.

looks like he did 'cause you totally blow by him on the 2nd time. look at the speed he drops off in your rear view mirror. in the 1st one you were totally on his butt, then he got on it. took him a while but eventually he started to pull but he lifted and started braking way early by the start/finish flagger.

good job on making him give it up tho. heheh. press on. they'll learn.

I think the difference was that the first time around I followed him too closely and wasn't able to carry as much speed out of 15 so we ended up being really close on the straight (notice that he isn't really pulling away from me). The second time I gave myself more room so that I could get on the gas sooner. If I came out of the turn faster than him that would explain why the 2nd pass looked so "easy". I have another clip where we were neck and neck at the end of the straight but I was on line so he had to let off and get in behind me...I honestly don't think the guy lifted to let me by all day - I had to work for every pass.

The NSX didn't let you by until the last lap? From what I saw the first time you tried to pass him, NASA-Virginia would've flagged him if he didn't let you by.
Yeah, I passed him right before the checkered flag... I caught up to him in the first portion of the clip, he didn't let me by so I had to follow him a lap and then pass (right as the session ended). This wasn't the only time either. Same thing happened earlier in the day...drag raced him up the front straight and he stayed ahead, had to follow him a lap and then hang back so that I could come out of turn 15 faster and pass him. The third time I passed him was between turns 7 and 8, and this was the only time that he gave me a wave by all day. Ah well...I can see how the driver of a $90k car would be a bit stubborn and reluctant to let a $25k car pass him.

nice bob, let me know when the next one is. I'll go for sure , even to just watch. I'm sick of staying home and watching videos. I want to see it for real again.

now that I've just finished watching the first video. Didn't that remind you of me at buttonwillow when I spun it out of a turn like that? hahah it was fun though.

I liked how you made the Mugen R change his mind about his braking point, then proceed to outbrake himself.

cool videos.

Were you the same guy that had the 300Z hit the brakes at the apex and made you go into the mud? Why is the NSX hitting the brakes at the apex of 15

I had a guy go offroading straight off 9 in front of me once. Looked brutal on the car as he hopped down the hill. Probably less chance of a rollover though.

Was this run by unlimited laps? What did you think of them? I'm wondering since I signed up for laguna seca.
