I was at the local mall two days ago (0ct. 2) and while I was backing up to leave... some old fart in a Ford Taurus backed up and hit me.... I was backing up and almost vertical already.. and this bastard didn't see me and ran into me... I first honked when he was backing up and he was like about 5 inches from my side view mirror on the passenger side.... then he hit it and bent it inwards.... he stopped and didn't move.. then proceeded to back up again... and then I held the horn.. by then I could feel my car scream with pain already... he stopped and waited for like 5 seconds and then moved forward again... I pull over and we exchanged info and as I checked my car... the passenger side door is dented... F*&K!!!!

This is out of anger, but---ANYBODY THAT IS ALREADY COLLECTING SOCIAL SECURITY SHOULD NOT BE PRIVILEGED TO DRIVE!!!!

Sorry for the post being so long... just wanted to let others know.. my girlfriend was in the car, but they don't know the sentimental value of the car...

Is the damage only on the door?

 

Well, there are minor scratches on the side view mirror.. the guy's car's paint... but I took the car into a shop for an estimate yesterday and they said that it can buffed out....

 

On the bright side, at least the rear quarter panel was not damaged.

The car was good.. it was clean... never did nothing to no one.. and out of nowhere... the insane old hag hit it....

 

Looks like my car except mine is on the driver's side where the crease in the door is. It doesn't look that bad.

 

After this... I feel like as if I don't even want to drive it no more... emphasizing "feel"....

My analogy... don't need to agree or what not, but....

A car is like a girl.. it's yours... and once someone else has hit it.. you know you don't want to ride it no more.... tell me if I'm wrong.... and even after it's fixed.. you're still going to have to get use to it again.. but just knowing that it's been hit... MAN!!!!!

 

It doesn't look that bad, but it's not the way it was.... and it can probably be fixed with one of those paintless dent removal guys that just come over to wherever and do it, but.... the estimate to fix it is $1100....

 

With the amount of ITRs stolen in CA, is there any chance of you finding a replacement door off a theft recovery vehicle?

 

Not sure about that one... and it's going to get fixed anyway... so I guess things will be ok...

 

Dude, I had a similar dent on my R; a screwy old bit*ch pushed her shopping cart right into my door and dented it on a parking lot. Anyway, there is a shop called "Dent Experts" that dealt with the problem. Less than an hour and $60 later the door was just like new !! No paint, no buffing, nothing !! The guy removed the inside panel and worked the dent from the inside. I'm sure there must be a shop like this in your area. Give it a check.

yeah, there is a place like that here also... my uncle had his brand new Camry dented and had one of those guys do that too...... it's perfect... you can't even tell that it was ever hit... but if the other party's insurance company is going to pay for all the damages... then why not let them fix it.... I just hope they don't mess up the paint... they said they were going to blend the paint or whatever.. hopefully that turns out ok...

i woudl really look into finding a replacemet door of a theft recovery veheicle..it might be cheaper ...and no matter how good a body shop is...you can never duplicate the baking paint process that the factory does

 

there should be a law where senior citizen's must take a driving test every 6 months after they turn 65. they are SERIOUS danger's on the road...

The car was washed and waxed on Friday... then all of a sudden Tuesday comes around and now it's jacked....

But about getting a theft recovery ITR door... I'll call the shop and have them look into that.... I realy don't want my car mismatching colors... that won't make me very happy....

 

My car was clean.... clean!!! dammit!!!

 

Actually, people under 20 are far WORSE drivers than those over 55. If we're going to administer periodic driving tests to people over XXyrs, we should also do the same for people under XXyrs.
