Default Door Panel Question

I opened the panel and there is that white screen around, im guessing i need to take that out to get to the window, is there a way to get it off and on with ease, should i just cut it off and not put it back on? Whats it there for?

Just peel back what you need to get in there. Put it back when your done. It doesn't have to be perfect.

vapor barrier, i suggest putting it back on, but its really not essential.

rope caulk is a good thing to use if the old adhesive is worn out.
