Proper way to Remove power steering?
Ok, I've been reading up on this, and have a few different ideas on how to do this correctly while keeping the power steering rack. Please tell me which is better, and how you all have done it, if you have...
1. Real Time Type R setup- basically push out old fluid from hoses, and run a hose from the rack up to a resevoir, to allow the air to escape and cause pressure.
2. Pushng most fluid out and take out hoses from rack, and then plugging up the holes.
I could go itno details, but the ones who know what I'm talking about should help. This is in a 94 Si BTW. Thanks'

Thanks JG
CircuitSi- what exactly did you do?? It's hard to see. Did you just reroute the line back to the rack, rather than going to the pump??

No, that I do know. The Real Time Type R's are running a power steering rack, with all hoses and pump removed. They run a hose from the rack to a resevoir, to allow fluid to fluctuate while turning. It's supposed to be easier than power steering, with the same ratio, loss of weight, and the feel of manual. I just don't know exactly how to do it!
it was kinda funny, but some people on here are too dumb, it will just confuse them and they'll sit there for 20 minutes trying to understand, but never will. Just keep comments like that to a minimum so technical questions can be answered and BS can be saved for Members Only forum- which you can't be a part of yet.

In the bottom of this pic, you can almost see that I just ran a loop between the inlet and outlet on my power 'teg rack-after aquiring the appropriate barb fittings(thanks Dropspeed!).

as soon as I get a free day, I'll be doing this...did anybody do it with engine in place?? Is there enough room? It looks like there is...
Just did it yesterday, pretty easy really. It is a bit of a reach to get down to the rack, but at least on my car, it wasn't by any means impossible. Steering effort is like night & day compared to just removing the belt... Thanks again for the help all!!
