Bosch +4 spark plugs...are they ok?
I am doing some routine maint. today and I can get the BOSCH +4's for 'free' from a friend at a car parts store, should I go with these? There are no places around here except for the Acura Parts Dept. that carry the good NGK's that I desire, and they want $48!!! So will these plugs do the job until I can find the NGK platinums? Thanks for any help.
I don't see any real advantages or disadvantages in using them. As long as you get the proper heat range and you gap them at the proper spec they should do the job.
I don't know if they are copper or platinum but keep in mind that copper plug do not last as long as platinum ones. Inspect them a little more often then the stock NKG

Ill never use them again. I had them in my 94 DOHC VTEC del Sol, and with normal driving, like gramma driving(5th gear at like 45mph), my car started to shudder and shake when trying to accellerate. Come to find out the plugs were complete **** and I was running on 3 cylinders. I took the plugs out, they basically crumbled to pieces in my hand(exaggerating, but you get the idea). I took them back and got a refund, put in some NGK platinums(good enough for the Sol at the time) and she ran perfect again.

I dont like them, if you are still going to use Platinum, then I would stick to OEM (NGK) ones.

Are they ok for just temporary use? The stock ones are shot, and I can't get the NGK's I want until next week. Basically its used plugs that I know are bad and get the NGK's next week, or use the +4's until I get the NGK's next week...

I doubt your car is running faster just because of the plugs, not that that is what you were implying.
either way, I wouldnt use the plugs again, but I guess they would work for the time being. Mine were in my car for only a short time and they fouled majorly. They arent cheap so I dunno if its worth it temporarily unless you can return them when you get the plugs you want.

They are free for me (bonus of having best friend own car parts store)...so I guess they will have to suffice for the time being.
They worked AWESOME in my Z3. I noticed a big increase in gas milage and the car pulled a bit harder too. Even my girlfriend noticed the difference, and she's not a car person.
I've heard that they don't work well in japanese cars for some reason.
