Default Your opinions on the AEM bypass valve....

Hi. I was wondering what you guys think about the aem bypass valve for the aem cold air intake. Does it work? Is it worth hacking up the CAI to put it on? i'm sure it's definetly better than risking with hydrolock. Also, i've heard some people say that you will lose some horsepower throughout the rpm range after you install it. Is this true? by the way, i have a d16y8 2000 civic ex and i'm just working on the basics right now (i/h/e). i just want my car to breath a little easier. i know that i'm not going to get massive increases in hp and torque. some guys might tell me to save up for a swap or forced induction, but that's financially out of the question right now. anyway thanks alot for your advice and help!

jsut stay ou of 1-2 foot puddles, use fenderlining, and you won't have to worry about hydro lock.....and it would proablly lose 1-2 hp..depends on what rick you want to take...there are many risks involved when moddign a car..peace
