Default How much padding on roll-cage

Been trying to find some pics, but can't seem to find any. Everyone always takes pics of their cage after the install and before the padding goes on. I just bought an AP 6 pt cage. How much of it needs to be padded?

Main hoop? How far down?
Cross bars?
Forward upper bars? How far down? Past dash on A-pillar?
Door bars?
Upper windshield bar?

anywhere you think any part of your body will hit. the obvious places are on the side and fore part of the halo, side bar, and pillar arm.

Anything you or your passenger could come into contact with while strapped into the seat, not just the helmet, but arms and legs too.

on the cage purchase

Don't forget the legs. Especially around the knee and ankle areas...

Pretty much what everyone else said paying extra attention to the head areas.

One more thing... think about where your head *might* hit if the back of your seat breaks and it esentially disappears... where might your helmet impact. Know someone who didn't think of this, and there are about 2 hours of his life he just doesn't remember.

Good purchase Chris!

I got my 4pt bolt in a month or so ago. Best purchase yet.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Knew most of it already, but wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving anything out.

Use the $$ hard padding for helmet contact areas, you can use the cheap stuff all other places.

Chris is blessed...

Somebody will show up and sell him enough $$ padding to do his whole cage for something like $20 and a couple tacos...

Do not mess with the cheap stuff - spend the money and get the SFI-approved stuff. And ditto on padding around the foot area. In my street car (no cage) I got in a wreck causing my foot to hit the left side of the footwell. Result - cracked bone. Would have been much worse hitting a cage.
