Default serious concern regarding gt30s and gt35s

heres something that is really bothering me regarding these very high tech turbos:

the shaft used is actually based on a t25 shaft. I learned this after speaking with one of the guys over at innovative. While he acknowledged the turbo is a phenomenal performer, the life expectancy is certainly reduced based on the fact that the turbo shaft is going to bend as it spins faster and faster. There is no way around, it -- its simple physics.

it makes the innovative "gt61" turbo very very appealing

The only thing I can compare it to would be inbetween a 60-1 and a T3/T4. Its only slightly larger than my turbo now. I still has a stage 3 compressor .63 t3/ and a t04E but with a .60 compressor rather than a .57 .

I know someone that put down 409whp at 17psi, I think thats what the boost was set at. I may be totally wrong on the boost but they did put down 409whp. Not bad..

Precision makes some really good turbos..

yeah supposedly its a sick turbo. Precision wont give detailed info on wheel trims/sizes but their center sections are un friggin believable. More technology in them than anyone elses turbos....

the center section actually spins inside the housing on ball bearings and insdie of that is the spinning shaft (thick) pretty damn slick.

If you guys want I can probably set up a group buy on some of Precisions turbos. Let me get some info..

I like the way they advertise their turbos, not by specs but by time ET. Buy the 9sec turbo etc..LOL

also, according to viren, percision turbos of equivalent size to garrett, etc flow more. i found this comparision of exhaust housings here...

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/pict...thousings.html

i sold my greddy kit and am 99% sure i'm going with the pt54. according to viren it spools around 3200, max boost around 4800, and will easily support 400hp or so at 14-16 psi. plus for the price it can't be beat. anyway, my $.02.
