final 3" custom dp install pics.....no 56k..
Ok..finally finishing up the exhaust and some minor other stuff..i had pics of my pipe before it was welded without the dumptube before...here it is complete. The dumptube was much more difficult to make because i was working with 2 fixed points. It had to be perfectly sanded so it met the pipe on the bend. I made sure to get at least 18" of dumptube before it reconnects(per corky bell) and it dumps at almost a perfect 45 into the pipe...turned out extremely well. I do not have a flex pipe in the dump...i know i should. I'm going to add it next season...along with my new turbo feed setup. I did actually break down and get earls and braided for the drain...much nicer now...couldn't get the other hose to bend like i wanted it to. Also have the place racing front crossmember in there...it's a very nice piece. skip the haters...i hope it doesn't break..hahea. Gives me much more room..the drain is finally gonna be able to gulp. As soon as i get my custom radiator it will be moving again. It's pretty late think im rambling..ill start posting pics.
Here is the bare finished pipe...notice the 2 o2 bungs...one about 12 inches away for the wideband..and the other near the factory position at the end of the pipe..the crx has been converted to obd1...so its ok to have the heated o2 back there.
Getting the high temp paint spray coating...i hate rust.
I must admit, it looks tough as nails now..
Now installed..hopefully you can see what kind of bolts i used..they are stainless hex round bolts. you almost need it for a full 3" pipe right on the bracket. No dents or bending...it fits. By the way, there's not a cheated bend in that pipe!
Here you can see my new drain setup:
Front end of the beast...
And finally...is there a better way to end a good day of wrenching with a largemouth bass??

VERY nice, I like the added touch of the heat coating paint and you were right about those hex bolts, those worked out very well. It looks like a very promising setup. Good luck!

Copper plumbing pipe from home depot?? No..all the exhaust and charge piping is hooker manderal bends from summit....it kinda looked coperish i guess..that's just a light rust coating..the camera flash really makes it visable.
>where to get hex bolts
I got them at Ace hardware! I had to cut them down since they only had 30mm and 40mm length bolts...it needs to be about 35..and they didnt have the round stainless in 35.

What size bends did you get from summit? Is it mild steel or staineless? It doesn't look like they have 3" in stainless.

What kind of high heat temp paint did u use? I tried spraying my dump tube with some and it didnt stay, it started flaking.

It's mild Steel bends..i got a few 3" J bends and U bends from summit..just go under exhaust tubing on their site and you'll see the hooker manderals.
The paint i got from trak auto...im sure napa has it too...it's just standard header paint..up to 1200F. Should work fine.

I am brand new to turbo setups so bare with me here. Is that other little pipe hooked up to the wastegate so it doesn't dump right into the atmosphere? I guess it would be called an internal wastegate then?

It always has and will be a street car...full interior all that junk.
It's an external wastegate.....It's kind of hard to see my wastegate in those pics but its connected to the manifold...and the external wastegate dumps it back into the downpipe so it doesn't waste to atmosphere. An internal wastegate you can't run to the atmosphere if you wanted...
