New Yokohama AVS ES100 205/45/16
I'm currently shopping for tires and these Yokohamas are only $1 more than the Kumhos. How are these compared to the Kumho 712's? They even come with a HPI remote control car from http://www.tirerack.com http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....um=045WR6ES100
So what do you think? As far as I know Yokohama only makes quality tires, am I right?

When I ordered my tires from the tirerack, I ended up getting the Parada Spec II's b/c I wanted a japanese tire and the Spec II's were the only ones I could afford besides the Advan A032R's. And the ES100 came out like 2 weeks later which really pissed me off. Here's a link to Willards post on the ES100...AVS ES100 review
Yes, get the Yokos over the Kumhos. Though the ES100's reportedly have somewhat soft sidewalls, I'm sure they won't be near as bad as the 712's. The Kumho 712's are a tire I would not recommend to anyone wanting a dry-grip tire.

damn I really wanted to try the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions but they don't make them in my size (205/45/16)
but those Yokohama's are pretty low priced.. when my Dunlop SP9000's wear out maybe I'll give them a try.. its only like $320 for all four (+shipping, mount/balance, etc) not bad... worth a try and I've heard others say good things about them as well as the Dunlop FM901's..

i have the FM901's and they are pretty good. nice grip, does get kind of loud, but that doesnt really bother me. overall its a pretty nice tire.
Hmm then I guess when it comes time to get another set of tires I'll either get another (this would be the 3rd set) of Dunlop SP Sport 9000's I
these... or try the Yokohama Parada Spec II's both are available in my 205/45/16 size

Wow, I didn't think those FM-901's were as bad as some people claimed. I've never seen so much hate towards a tire. If a person can say they'd get 712's over those FM-901's, then the FM-901's must really suck.
ok im down to 3 choices...
-Kumho Ecsta 712
-Yokohama ES100
-Yokohama Parada Spec2
all are about the same price, the spec 2's being 10bux more per tire. What would you guys get? Im looking for a good tire that handles good in the wet but able to handle a couple runs at the track. and azenis's r out of my price range

ES100 without a doubt...anything that bears the "AVS" will not disappoint.
From Willard's post, they seem to be 1 notch below the Azenis, which I wouldn't look down upon.

i am running the yokohama es100's in a 195/50-15. i prefer them over the kumho's. i was gonna run kumho 712's and then i saw the yok's. for a couple bucks more, i have a better tire. steering response is alot better, thread pattern looks cool, and getting traction is no problem. the tires are great for what you pay for.
are the ES100s decent in wet weather?
EKK!
205/50/VR15 - $79/e
195/50/VR15 - $53/e
Can someone help me justify paying $26 more per tire because its a little wider? Do you guys think its worth it? Im going to purchase these tires today, originally i wanted the 205s, but I could save myself $104 by purchasing the 195s. Man i dunno what to do?!

i just ordered kumho 712's only because i needed them right now and the es100's in 205/45/16 won be avail till 9/20 i think. and i cant wait that long. plus there wasnt enough feedback so i went with the norm and got kumhos
what are you going to be using these tires for? the 712's are a good value for a street tire, but horrible for track use. i don't have any experience with your other choices.
