I have been debating on doing this for a while. I've seen some of the VW's and Mercedes with smoked / red tails and think they look nice on certain cars. I would only give a light smoke as I still want my Polarg super white blinkers to give that light blue color rather than a gray or whatever color if it were to be dark.
Has anyone done this? I just think it would be kind of unique on a Honda since I've never seen this in person and don't recall any pics either... Also, I think it would go nicely with my blackened out headlights even though you can only see one or the other at the same time.
Just a thought.....

My friend has an EG with smoked bottom lights and on the top is red, doesn't look bad, not my taste though.
There is also a person on here with that with an 96-98 EJ
forgot his username.

just out of curiosity, how do you smoke, yor taillights? black paint?

I am thinking there is special paint for this
...I would have to see pics before doing this mod. Because I do like my red / clears, especially since not many people have them on the 6th gen. sedans.
look in the new honda tuning mag. there is a si that is turboed and they did it to their tails and it doesnt look bad and if you have done it to your headlights then go ahead and do it. and all of the cars in the handa tuning I have already seen and one of my good friends josh hinning that lives near me in birmingham Alabama is in there is it the dx with z3 healights and gs 400 tail lights but anyways
Did this last year back in June:

This was with Static Cling tint found at Walmart. Like $2-5 for a roll. Just follow the directions. Just make sure you use a drop of Elmer's Glue for the sides because the wind will catch it and there goes your corners
I have a can of NightShades I was planning on using instead. Just one light spray.
And for those who don't know me. I'm allowed to do this mod

Unless you have a problem with racers with ricer mods

i just used transparent dk gray vinyl i bought from an art store (you can get it at sign stores as well). a pretty big sheet will run you around $5. since it is vinyl, it sticks like a ***** and is already glossy. i also used a candy red transparent vinyl to do the top (these were all clears).
you never have to worry about uneven coats of paint or not having the right amount of clear coat. and it comes off with ease as well.
happy modding!
