Default Brakes n' Porportioning Valve (long)

When I did my brake swap about a year ago, I replaced the proportioning valve with a 40/40. (F+R disks). The proportioning valve leaks a little fluid from where the brake lines feed in (possibly from where the upper and lower part of the valve come together also), so i replaced it (using j-yard valves) and had the same results. I'm thinking either I didn't have the hard lines aligned properly in the valve or my hard lines nut (laugh it up) threads are stripped and causing the leak. to note, I did swap the bracket off my civic p valve to the teg valve ( it didn't come apart and break the seal that the p valve has, although, maybe the slight change in pressure broke the seal and the valve became misaligned) since i used c-clamps and a vice.
Anyway, has anyone had a problem with this? or any suggestions. I'm currently trying to grab another p valve from a yard and this time not do the bracket switch.
Also, my rear brakes kind of my a slight friction(sounds like a poor pad on a rotor) noise when braking. I bought remanufactured calipers and i think it maybe the crummy pads that came with it.
