It's coming out next month, only in limited edition though. You need to take proper steps in order to get one.
1. Go to dealer and put a $5,000 deposit down, I know it's a lot but they need to know if you're serious.
2. Specify if you want left or right hand drive, because they often confuse the UK models and US models.
3. You then fly to Japan to get your custom seat fitted. (included in price of the car)
4. Wait 2 more months for them to build it and rebadge it as an RSX-R.
I have a friend that works for Acura thats flying to Japan next week to get his seat done! I'll post pics when he gets it.

Yea, I'm going to Acura tomorrow cause I gotta talk to them, I'll go ahead and ask them bout the Type R and see what they say..
You guys don't actually believe this stuff do you? I mean come on, they fly you to japan and have you fitted for your seat? ummm....BS!!!!!...
The whole thing is bs guys.If you try and ask the dealership about the car they know absolutly nothing. They usually find out when the car will be released like 2-3 months before it hits the show room. So your better off searching the internet. But like I said I have heard many rumors about the release of the car. But just keep this in mind.
The gen 3 integra was first released in 1994 and we finally got the type R in 1997 here in the US. So that's 3 years from which the gen 3 integra was first released and then we got the type R. So take that same set up but use if for the RSX. The RSX was released in 2002 so add 3 years and you get 2005. So if anything we might get the integra type R(RSX) in 2005, maybe late 2004. But like I said this is all rumor.

Its actually " Ill be believing that when me sh-t turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbert" ( in an irish accent)
and its all a load of BS. complete and utter BS. the only thing i have read is the same as most of you.. motor trend posted in a review of the type s when it was first released, that they might......might release the type r in the use in 2004. but who knows, the dealers sure as sh-t dont, i know i used to be one!
Ooops I thought you guys were talking bout' the Enzo!
Custom fitted seats.....on a ITR...??? Come on guys don't believe everything you read. Peace.

Not posting for argument.. Only my opinion..
here's why i think DC5R won't be coming to U.S.
1. Australian DC5R has same HP as U.S.
2. Acura just introduced the Type R trim in performance package($5000)
3. Japan got 2 trims of DC5
4. Sport Compact Car, June 2002 Issue. Stock - 172whp With less restrictive i/h/e DC Sports makes 188 whp - thats clearly about 10 hp more than you would get in dc2 with i/h/e
gen 3 gsr - 150whp gen 3 itr - 160whp type's - 170whp in japan type r makes 220 which is 20 over type s. at the wheel it should be what dc sports made in scc.
Diference between 4th generation USDM engine VS JDM would be similar to difference between 3rd generation USDM ITR and JDM Type R

i talked to the guys at acura... one said it's most likely a rumor but you never know, the other said he's 90% sure it's for real. he said the part about them flying you to japan and fitting your seat is BS though. he said it will be called RSX Limited Edition.
