Default Pressing in Bushings???

Is it possible to press bushings without the use of a press?

I'm trying to replace my rear LCA bushings and they don't want to go in even when I tried to help them with a hammer.

You can push the old bushings out with a big socket, and a big hammer. Support the control arm on a couple bricks, or a couple of other decent sized sockets so that there is room for the bushing to come out of the control arm. Make sure that the socket that you use is just big enough to fit through the hole (I used something around a 1" socket), and isn't too small that doesn't just hit the rubber in the center of the bushing. Doing it this way will require a decent amount of elbow grease, and 2 people. Becareful

Use a long bolt and big washers on each side. The washers should be bigger than the bushing, but have a small enough hole not to slip through the nut/bolt. Should look like this:

bolt
washer
LCA
bushing
washer
nut

Then just tighten.
