I'm sure it can pass smog, but not state referee.

pass smog but not state referee?

state referee is pretty much a designated smog check area...

the reason why cops give u a state ref ticket, is b/c of the corrupt shops that u can pay to pass smog....

i wanna pass smog legally.
anywhere in CA (state ref, or ur basic shell station wit smog check machinez

hard to say.....assuming the smog tech is engine code savy, most likely you'll fail the visual inspection part of it.

As far as tailpipe emissions go, the j-spec engine will have higher compression. Never smogged one myself so i don't know what effect the bump in comp. will have on NOx levels. Remember we only have 91 octane(socal) so if you running the j-spec ecu (designed to run on higher octane) you might be compounding the problem. Not sure if i helped..sorry.

You'd need to take it to your local referee station for inspection and then they'll tell you how to comply.

Why TF can you just go and register some shitty, leaded fuel drinking, smoke spewing, gas guzzler 63 Impala no problem, but you have to get the Late model cars smog checked? it just makes NO SENSE! the New cars aren't the ones creating the smog! it's that friggin' old ***, oil burning POS that doesn't even need to get checked!

Cali Emissions =
Nevada Emissions =

gotta do it gangsta style here...

-edit-
i just realized that i bumped a thread that has been dead for a year and a half... sorry. i didn't mean to.
