Honda-Challenge Races, In-Car Videos from CMP 8-4-02
Finally, here's my highlights and In-car videos from the Honda-Challenge Races at Carolina Motorsports Park, in Kershaw SC. Three words describe the environment we were subjected to....Hot as Hell. Thanks again to Andy(8400-RPM)(Crew Chief) for all the help. The whole weekend went extremely well, especially considering the reputation this track has for wearing brakes and tires. Unlike my previous races at Summit Point, I had absolutely no problems with my wheel weights staying put, as I switched from Duct tape to some HVAC Aluminum Foil tape, which held great. The CarboTech XP 1108 brake pads held up beautifully, as well. All-in-all I was really surprised by how well the weekend went for me. I ran the whole weekend, as well as the Friday before, on the same set of race tires(Kumho Ecsta 700s) I raced on at Summit Point. Air pressures seemed to need to be a little lower than SP to get proper wear, but I still love these tires.
Finally, thanks to all the fans who come out to these races and watch. It's a great feeling to see others get enjoyment from just watching me do something I love so much.
It was a sad sight to see some of my fellow competitors drop out early in the races due to technical issues... Jon, Corey... I wish you guys the best at the next race! And Jason, nice driving... first race? I would have never guessed.
I want to especially thank Adam, Lyonel and Alex (the guys I spent most of the track time around) for some good clean racing, and for watching out for me.
Man, I love this series! And the drivers here, are the best!

[edit] ...Lyonel's got the mad counter-steering skills... I'd swear he grew up dirt track racing.

As always, EXCELLENT videos Robert.
And I shouldn't say this, but I will. We really are putting on a damn good show. Close racing (just watch any of Robert's videos) which is also clean and sportsmanlike. Big
to my fellow Honda Challenge racers. The "formula" is working.

All I can say (this is his wife Danielle) is I can't wait for the day we can afford to get into Rally (Lyonel driving me navigatng of course) ...I think he would be well suited for that and may not get so many wide-eyed comments made about his style of driving...
NOS? nope just new hoosiers.... and a 4.7 final drive... and moton shocks and a few less pounds... and a really pissed off attitude after my self inflicted spin.... etc.etc.etc.
Great in car vids man!!!!
