Any thoughts on FAl or lexan window replacements? Good for street?
FAL makes the two rear windows for the 5th gen coupe for about 500...they also make all 6 windows for roughly 1100 dollars...is their a cheaper way of doing this yourself? Not good for street? Crack easily? Any experience is appreciated!
Scratch........easy.......hard to replace........rivited.......not street legal......cops give ticket cause it's obvious........
I like the idea though. Wouldn't mind doing it myself if it were legal and they didn't scratch so easy.

how much weight do they save?? somewhere like 10-20 lbs?? not worth it in my book at all. I will just take a healthy #2 before I race; spend the 600 on something that will actually make my car faster on the street.

The FAL windows are not riveted in, they fit like factory windows, they're scratch resistant, and they don't crack. If you do it yourself, it will be cheaper, but you'll be vulnerable to all the things I just listed. They're expensive, but if you really want to shave off a few pounds.............
nobody, and I mean nobody, has noticed mine in my hatch. The blackout around the egdes and the curvature looks identical to stock. They do scratch if you're not SUPER careful with them. Mine haven't cracked after a year of occasional street use and a few track events.
fyi: if you get them, be sure to remove the stupid white logo and blacking out the area where it was BEFORE putting them in the car!!!

mmrusa.com lists a weight saving of 20-50lbs. depending on application and how many windows you replace. I would assume the full race kit which includes all the windows would save roughly 50lbs. (just assumption) and just the rear two saves 10-20lbs. Fal says they ARE scratch resistent and i would assume you would have to be a little careful for this to remain true. Are they a bitch to install? Anyone know how much it would be for me to pay like a safelite auto or something? Im assuming it wouldnt be that much ...few hundred...guess ill have to ask someone
