Turbo on f22 accord
Waz up everyone. Well its that time of year and I want to spend some money on my car. I want to get a turbo kit for it. I've been searching and it seems that I either can go with a fmax, drag, or custom turbo. The question is I want something that is reliable. I want a turbo that I can play with and not blow up my engine. Another question is where is a good place to buy one? Anyone else with a turbo on there f22, do you guys have an probelms currently with the turbo? If a turbo is not that reliable with my engine I might want to go with an all motor. The key is that I want something reliable and fun to drive. Thanks
i really like the fmax kits, they come with almost everything you need.
try http://www.fmax.com for info and to buy it, try http://www.turbokits.com
oh btw, if you have a 5th gen...you either have the f22b1(vtec motor) or f22b2(lx non vtec). the f22a1 you listed in your sig is from the 4th gen accord, unless you swapped that motor in your 5th gen.

The Fmax kit is just plain junk. The extra injector set up is a half-assed way to supply more fuel. The new drag gen 4 kit is out for the accords and is a very nice kit. Write ben@importparts.com he is the biggest drag dealer in the country and honda-tech members get a 10% discount. Also, reliable as far as a turbo on a stock bottom end is low boost drive it right, not to the floor everywhere. I would use the AFC hack to supply the extra fuel needed. Accordfreak has the new gen 4 kit, he also has pics of it, hit him up for some info abou the new kit. Check the Forced Induction forum for anymore questions you might have.
Thanks for all the replys. I think I'm going to check out the drag gen 4 system. Oh Kazman I already bought some rims thanks for the offer though. Pics soon to be up!
Ive got the FMAX. Fits perfect. Good luck getting that from the drag kit.
I dont use the injectors in the intake piping, but there's people that like it.
I'm VERY happy with mine.

what kind of BOV does the DRAG kit use? and also, i prefer the custom route just due to the fact that you can select everything you want in your own individual sizes...and the fuel management that both systems use isn't great...hondata hondata hondata would be my choice...but anyways, that's just me...
well i ve been trying to piece my turbo together.. it depends on what you want to spend. you can find full kits a bit cheaper.. but like mentioned your stuck with what they give you. the crappy delta wastegate.. no decent management... stuff like that.. you might want to go custom .. but you'll hate yourself when you run out of money and still need parts.. lol
i know i have..

if this is on stock internals you aren't gonna have that motor too long...i'd push it back to about 8 psi at most...

the FMAX kit comes at 6 from the factory. i have the kit and thats where mines at. whoever said FMAX kits are junk obviously has never seen one and/or doesnt know what theyre talkin about. tell me why the DRAG kit is better. DRAG doesnt have a web site, a street address, a phone number. so tell me how you contact them if you have any troubles. you dont. they only sell the distributors because they dont wanna be responsible for their product. i've never heard of anyone blowing their motor from an FMAX kit. i have 2 friends thats blew their motors with DRAG kits running 8 lbs. and how is the H22 a better way to go? i put my turbo on at the same time as my friend put an H22 is his accord. i blew him away and his car isnt running right now because the motor blew. its not any more reliable than a turbo if a turbo is taken care of. check out nidejb's dyno numbers. 253hp. thats more than a lot of the dyno numbers i have seen from a turboed H22. the F22/23 has lower compression which will handle more boost. an FMAX kit on an F22/23 is the best route to go if you take care of it and want the most power. i could go on for days about why DRAG sucks. yeah the extra injector fuel set-up isnt the best thing but it works. i beat the hell out of my car everyday and no problems at all
Yeah, I have to agree with that. I went to Fmax and the gave me a tour of the place and they do a lot a work and have good products. They are working on producing carb legal kits as well. I want to get one on my car but, I don't know since I have 94K on my motor.
no problem with 94k miles. i have 92k on mine and its running good. had it on there for 8k miles so far and i beat it all day long. if it blows i build the motor. my car will never have an H22 in it as long as i live. my friend tried to sell me his H22 for $800. right out of his 2000 Prelude because he bought a motor from JG and i told him to keep it. screw the H22. my other friend has a blown H22 that he will give me but i would have to build it but screw it. my F23 runs good and has a lot of potential and it doesnt have to be Prelude powered. i eat Preludes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

The F-max kit has it at 10psi from the factory, and you underestimate the F-series engine.
