Default Homemadeturbo manifold construction

Well, I just picked up a 91 civic std. manifold. a couple of the bolt holes need to be redrilled a little bit to get them to fit the b18's studs but its nothing to drastic. I know there are people here that are using this manifold and I hope to hear from them about there experiences. So far I have my turbo, manifold in the making, DSM injectors, SAFC, 944 intercooler.

EDIT: Make sure u check the new posts for updates

please do not do that!
take both peices to a machinshop and have them make an adapter.
it shouldnt cost you more than 50 dollars. two bolts=ghetto, you will get leaks like that....

Looks familiar, dodge daytona turbo on an STD mani. I did that on my spare motor. If you have the gasket from the manifold to cat also, shouldn't leak and holds real good too. Hope you have a lot of room up front because I wasn't able to fit that in my ED civic.

old school = ghetto

I liked the old school stuff, but I like the new technology too much.

Try it, if you get leaks fix it, if not you can get some more old school stuff. Flexpipe ownz you!

I agree 100%. If you dont have time to do it right the first time, you probably wont the second time around either. I know saving money is a fantastic thing, but i dont see how people can give a for custom turbo's that are so ghetto rigged.

Ditto. I spent a lot of time getting mine the way I wanted it. Someday they'll realize that sewer couplings and JB Weld are not long term parts.

Oh man, don't do this. It won't seal well and I bet it won't fit right.

Make an adapter plate, it'll be much nicer.

Well for a lot of people on this board it's not a sport, it more of a hobby. If you race by all means do it right. But for me screwing around and finding my own ghetto solutions for things is half the fun. I mean any idiot with their parents credit card can buy a drag kit and go and pay to have it installed. But it takes a truly unique kind of idiot to make it himself.

Funny, Im not totally out of the ghetto yet. Money spent on hondata, injectors, and basically doing it right the first time put me in a situation where I didnt buy ALL the good stuff.
JB weld on the starion IC and sewer couplings found throughout the charge piping along with 1g dsm bov and some more ghetto ****--dont even ask about my exhaust.
Car goes low 13's, probably 12's if i get back to the track. 11's are coming after the buildup.

First I decided to use a 1" plate. Here I'm drilling the mounting holes.

After several hours of drilling, filling and grinding I was able to get the HF manifold to fit on my B18B1, this is by far the toughest part.

After drilling another hole in the T3's flange the adapter plate and manifold fit nicely, however the 2 studs are not in yet and I'm getting the plates port lazer cut tomorrow.

More pics tomorrow!
