What Dist. and cam sensor will fit on 2nd gen ZC?
Here is the story: I ordered a ZC from a company, who shall remain nameless, but they sent me a second generation ZC(1992-1995) I needed a first generation ZC(1998-1991). The only problem I'm having is that it has NO cam sensor and that the current distributor has too many wires. What I need to know is: what will bolt up AND work . I tried to use my old HF distibutor but the bolt holes are wrong. Anyone done this before? I hope I'm not the first one to get the wrong engine like this....help!
The first generation ZC has a brown top and was used in 86-87 JDM cars. The second generation ZC has a black top and was used in 88-91 JDM cars. Are you sure that ZC's were even made after 91?

I'd love to ship it back but they say..."no"...I've already written a very nasty letter to they hoping they will change their mind, but if they don't I could be stuck with this thing. Which gets back to my original question. Does anyone know for sure if a 88-89 teg dizzy and cam sensor will bolt up to this beast and work?
As a side note the 92-95 ZC's put out 135 HP, 5 more then it's predecessor. Whoopadedd

I know of another guy that had a 92 ZC for sale a while back. I have e-mailed him with your question. I will let you know what I hear back.
Yeh, the car is at my shop so give me a day or two. I can tell you that the "dizzy hole"...yeh Bevis, you said dizzy hole...sorry...looks just like the HF one. As for the "cam hole", I'm not sure because it has a black plastic cap over it. I'll post pics in a few days.
Thanks for all the help guys!

Sonny, my camera isn't working so I can't post any pics right now...BUT both the intake and exhaust have the same style round....slotted...pegged...well the ends look just like the end of the cam of my HF. Having never seen the hole the cam sensor fits in, I don't know if that is what I need or not??
im sure it will fit into the sockets
all that stuff is the same for hondas..try putting ur hf dizzy in there..
hey guys i was wondering if you could use ur si dizzy and just get a cam seal for the cam sensor??
if it would bolt up it should work right??

You have a ZC right? If you do, I'm sure you need to have a cam sensor. I tried to use the dizzy with no cam sensor combo that came with my OBD-1 ZC, but I kept getting a code 4..= cam sensor error! Where the cam sensor is normaly on the earlier ZC's, there is just a black plug.
ok then try using an si dizzy or even ur hf one..its not gonna hurt to try.
think of it as doin a z6 swap...where u would swap injectors and DIZZY so u dont have to convert to obd1...
but im sure u could stick with the original injectors.
also when its running see if you can compare it to an older zc someone might have...from wat ive heard the newer ones have more torque

heres the link that shows the 92-95 zc;s if some of yous didnt know..
another thing you can do is just goto the junk yard and get a 88-89 teg cam sensor...but first pop off that seal and make sure there is grooves in the cam..if not u cant use a cam sensor..ull just have to find a dizzy that works...
i think a 88-91 si or a 90-91 teg ls dizzy SHOULD work without throwing the code..
unless you can buy the cam sensor and put it in..either way..

That is the type of ZC I have. Notice the lacking cam sensor and grey plugs on the dizzy.
How much more torque do these have?
