Default What exhaust options do I have on my 2000 EM1?

I bought my EM1 back in March this year and it came with a terrible custom made exhaust. It doesnt sound particularly good at any RPM but at motorway speeds it drones horribly and is just loud... no nice tones etc

I'm looking to replace it with something that sounds awesome (doesnt matter if its loud) in Vtec but isnt too loud below 5500rpm for my daily driver. The important thing for me is the tone, I dont want anything that just drones, or is too raspy - I'd like something interesting.
The only option I seem to be able to find in the UK is the Tanabe Concept G which I have heard ok reviews about but seems a bit pricey for something that doesnt seem too special (£545=$930).

What personal experience have you had on your EM1?
I heard that the 5Zigen Miracle Fireball was good, but they dont seem to make one for the EM1 as far as I can tell

I was hoping for some suggestions of things to search for to be honest.
So far I have only been able to find some Greddy, DC, Tanabe (not on an EM1) and HKS clips.

Looking at http://www.rs-r.com/store/pc/v...ry=19 they dont list the EM1 2Door MY2000

I found a store that lists the 5Zigen for my car... and its cheap compared to over here!

Do you know of any others worth considering?

Apexi WS2. Sounds awesome at any RPM but not very loud. I have the Apexi exhaust with the muffler removed because it was too quiet for me. I just like ridiculously loud exhaust.

I have a 2000 EM1 as well... RSR EMAG is awesome but I wasn't able to get one as they were on back order when I was doing my exhaust.

I opted for the Skunk2 MaxPower instead and don't regret it. Down low it's not that loud and when Vtech kicks in it has a throaty growl as opposed to sounding like a weed wacker on steroids.

Note: With 4-1 header, race cat, and exhaust combined there was a quite noticable power increase.

Edit: sorry it's a MEGA POWER not max power... just went on youtube and it's just as quiet as the apexi ws2 but @ full rpm the mega power sounds different... not necessarily louder just different. It's yur cash so you go listen and decide for yourself what you'd prefer.

the apexi is very popular over amond the em1 crowd.

One of my buddies has a magnaflow on his si and it sounds great.

My APEX'i world sport sounds almost like stock at cruise. The intake is what's going to make the noise under WOT.

OP: Buy a quiet exhaust. Buy an intake. You have the option of shutting the car the F up or waking up an entire village across the sea.

The world sport also looks AWESOME on EM1s. It looks a ton better than coupes. It's all tucked away very nicely.

The greddy Evo2 sounds just as bad as his custom one that is on the car now, believe me i had one on my EM! for almost a year and got tired of it and traded straight across for a stock exhaust. That is how tired of the exhaust i got.I would go with the WS2 for an em1.

I have a Fujitsubo RMO1A on my 97 coupe and love it. It's got a nice deep tone that's not loud under 5000 RPM but when screams during Vtec engagement. Plus, not many people have it so you'll be unique as well!

are any of these systems really good/bad for ground clearance? there are tons of massive speed bumps where I live (some so bad on stock ride height i used to ground out!)

Agreed, The Apexi WS2 has a beautiful low tone which doesn't really disturb my neighbors much.
