Default Need advice No Gauge lights, Wont even turn over.

Well i have had a project building a motor for my civic the last 4 months. I Re-sprayed the bay, Put in a built motor and turbo setup and finally got everything done but am having some issues.

I went to prime the motor with oil with the fuel off, turned the key in the on position and all the cluster lights came on like usual i went to turn it over and it turned over once then just stopped out of nowhere as i held the key in start position. So i turned it off, Then put the key back in the on position and noticed that there was no cluster lights except the "brake" indicator light, No check engine light no nothing.I also turned the fuel cut off back on and the fuel pump wont even prime or turn on. I tried to turn the motor over and it didnt even click or anything.

So at this point i cant get it to do anything, Wont start, no cluster lights etc except for the "brake" light indicator, and the amber gauges light up when head lights are turned on. I tested everything else on the dash and everything else works, sterio, a/c-heat controlls, head lights, everthing.

-I pulled all the fuses, all of them checked out good.Under dash and under hood.
-Un plugged p28 and conv harness put in stock ecu, Nothing
-Pulled battery cables to re-set things, Nothing.

Im just stumped as to what it could be, The car had no issues before the swap and all the engine harness is stock and correct, With conv. harness and p28.

Anyone have any ideas on to what would cause these issues? I really need to get this car running. I searched the site up and down and no one has really had this issue that i could find.

Did you check the fuses under the dash and the ones in the engine bay?I can't remember what lit up on my cluster and what not, but I had a problem with blowing the ecu fuse in the engine bay and it kinda sounds something like your issue. You may have already checked them but just trying to help.Good luck.

I checked all the fuses, under the dash and under the hood. None of them are blown. I thought also that i might of blown a fuse but they all checked out okay.

He probably will, the problem is getting him to come over haha hes a busy man.

It just confuses me. The cluster "warning" lights should come on reguardless when i turn the key in the on position but they wont.....

How old is your battery? If it sat for four months and was old...that might be something to get checked out. Part stores do that for free.

Well i charged it before trying to start, and all the other acc's are working just fine. I tested everything.

Its just it seems like a fuse or relay or something went out when i tried starting it and now there is no check engine light, no srs light, no warning lights what so ever when the key is in the on position. And the car wont even turn over, wont click ...nothing

Thanks for the help guys This thing is really starting to stress me out.

i read that you charged it before you tried to start it but the battery might be dead now from trying to start it. grab someones battery and try it. if the fuses are not blown, no clicking, no CELs.

come to think of it. you might have a bad ecu. put any ecu in there and try it again but with a new battery.

you don't have a ground wire connected or not tighten back down, what must've had happened is when you went to turn it over the vibartion made it come loose try going over and checking all your grounds mainly the one near the transmission

this problem deffinately looks like its a wiring problem, short to ground, etc. So what i would do is check the harness of that new swaped engine, check for voltage in each wire, or even pull it out and try with another harness.

Battery is not the issue, It is fully charged and holding a charge. Like stated above all other insturments are working and functioning except the warning lights on the cluster they will not come on except the "brake" light for the emergency brake, the turn signal indicators also work.

As GOTBOOST said i already tried the factory ecu and it didnt change anything.

For people to get a good visual of what lights im speaking of i pulled a si cluster pic off google and circled what i mean by "warning lights" . They should come on when the key is in the on position but are not.

All grounds have been tightened under the hood, But when i get off i will double check them to insure this isnt an issue. But reguardless of weather there is a engine in the car or not , the "warning" lights should come on when the key is in the on position thats why i am so confused.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by G0TB00ST &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i dont know if he did a tuck... i think he did one earlier.. before the whole setup... but i am not sure.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

I tucked and re-made my headlight harness tested it and everything works, The engine harness is compleatly stock just re-taped to look pretty. So nothing was re-wired or messed with to cause any issues.

Thanks for all the help guys , I will snap some pictures tonight per the request to see the setup

I just got off the phone with a friend and he is thinking that maybe my Main Relay went out. Reasons he thinks this is because-

-Fuel pump wont come on
-No check engine light, or other "warning" lights
-No ecu power, wont turn on.
