Default compression vrs displacement.

quick question does higher compression take presidence over larger displacement, I'm not talkign a huge change in displacement, but like say u change ur pistons and u get domed ones and had concave ones. This I beleive would lower displacement, but increase compression in this case does the compression chagne make more power then the loss in displacement?.. I was jsut wondering cus liek when u raise ur compression normally dun ur displacement get lowered unless the engine stroke is longer?

displacement is dependant on bore and stroke only. nothing else.

Maybe you think displacement is the total volume of the cylinder, that's why you are thinking this way.

oh yea.. displacement is the total voume the piston moves huh, like it's not the whole cylinder jsut the are the piston covers right?

The displacement of a coke can is 12oz...
if you could put something else in the can, like a small piston, you have raised compression(of the liquid coke), but your displacement has stayed the same.
The 2 arent related in the way you were thinking...

ok so yea I gotta disagree with u well with context to cars at least.. it's jsut the differnce in volume of the cylinder when piston is TDC and BDC (up and down), ur coke can works but not in the context I'm looing for but nevermind neway
