************MODS can you change the title from built to build (its 2am and i messed up)********************
Well guys, as some of you may have noticed i stopped my last project thread, long story short, the h23 had a rod thrown through the block that i had no clue about since i did not drive the car home (had it towed). Since i have so many h22 parts it's just easier to build an h22 project instead.
I stumbled across this lude for a price i could not say no too ($640). Who could say no to a project like that haha
The plans are as follows
***COMPLETE*** - Strip the entire car down including the suspension
- Auto to 5 speed swap
- Redo the suspension
- Restore the interior
- Fix rust and repaint the exterior (will be professionally painted)
***COMPLETE*** - Wire tuck and engine bay shave
***COMPLETE*** - Delete all the accessorie harnesses
- Strip sound deadening, remove oxidization from floor boards, re-seal ,replace with aftermarket material
- Delete ABS and install Non abs components, CC, A/C, PS, Evap, EGR
- Build my new h22
- Install a form of induction
- Tune by spring/summer 2009
The thread will be updated when work is done. All the work will be done by myself, and possibly a bit by some of my friends. Lots of tech will be included, hopefully some detailed write up's since there will be some things i wish were in faq's that are not. Shall be a good winter projects for you car nuts to jerk off to at night lol. Pictures will be in the post below. Wish me luck guys
Ohhhhh and one last thing, if this thread starts to get slow it is because i am still in university so i don't have tons of free time. School first, cars second

I guess the easiest way to start this off is show the car
The beast in all its glory when i pick it up a few weeks ago

Now some of you may wonder why i bought this? Well here are the reasons,
1. Full MINT leather interior
2. New windshield
3. New UCA's, camber kits, sway bar endlinks
4. Lots of money could be made for the ricer parts
5. Able to part out the h23 and all its parts
6. Recent OOP so i do not need to inspect it
There is always a down side though but still with the above list $640 was worth it. It paid itself off within the first three days from parting out some parts.
The bad
1. ignition is destroyed by attempted theft
2. rear quarter rust
3. blown h23 block
4. auto
5. 4ws....[freak] that one pisses me off (i am converting the rear subframe back to non 4ws, lucky i kept all the rear suspension from my first part out )
Here are a couple more pictures for those who have not seen yet

Now some info on what has happened in the last few weeks.
The first order of business was getting rid of those bumpers and sideskirts. I sold them off to a local. I got to talking to him and found out he was interested in the front leather seats which i wanted gone anyway since i plan on getting some nice new racing seats. Well luck would have it that he traded me his oem front and rear bumpers. Both mint, both with perfect clips, and the best part is they are oem honda and the grill is not even damaged. On top of that he left the rear red signal lights in the rear bumper as well The deal got sweater because he gave me cash on top of that. I am going to buy some new clear fronts and some one pieces and do a retro fit as well.
Since the ignition was destroyed i had to push the car into my garage which is slightly uphill, not fun to say the least. But i made it.
The car resting in its new home

Popped the trunk open to find this. Sold the 2 ecu's off and made some good money off those as well.

Got to stripping the cars interior down

Just a shot to show how filty this car is. There are so much leaves, dirt, and crap in the engine bay and jams of the car

4ws and all its gayness (mind you i do love it for a dd car that goes slow like 3rd gens )

Anybody know what this little switch is for? my old lude (93 had it but not my 96, this is another 93)

Look at all that crap

Car is paying itself off hehe

Rear bumper and front bumper chilling

Front end getting stripped

Rods....garrr

HOORAY Engine is out!

And now i can finally start stripping the rest down, cleaning, filling, sanding, do my 5spd swap, and delete that abs As well....start the 30 hour wire tuck

dagle, i guess it does sort of look like that
and lol at the spam
snobordboi, the title is clean. I had a carfax thread on here a while ago about this one and a different one. This one came up clean with no theft, no accident ect. the other one i wanted was stolen so good thing i carfaxed.
What happened was they attempted to steal this one but failed so no police report was ever filed. The owner decided to sell it since replacing the ignition was to much work for him.

lol yah $640, it was a steal of a deal. He originally wanted $2000 but i got the price down due to the busted *** ignition and the little bit of quarter rust.
Yesterday i got most of the dash apart. I just need to get a small 2 inch screw driver so i can get the gauge clusters off and pop the cover off. Got the whole ignition and steering wheel off finally. Lucky for me only one part out of that whole ignition mess is actually damaged :D Once i get the dash cover off i will be gutting the vent system, the heater core, etc. I have a special project for my gauges that should turn out quiet nicely.
I busted out the helms last night as well and started reading up on the electrical. Decided it is probably best to start reading up on it and start labelling all the connectors, control boxes, and decide which chunk of wiring i can start taking out and which ones i will still need. Like i said earlier, wish me luck on this one

Man, nice to see the car getting a chance back at a normal life. I can't believe someone bought those bumpers off you. You shouldn't have sold them. They should've been sent straight to the dumpster so that they could never be used again.
Can't wait to see the progress pics.
Oh, if you are in need of OEM tail lights, let me know.

Man I wish u were around here I'd help ya out. Im not really feelin the h22. h23 t is whats up. I wish I would have saved my H23 so I could have built a H23 vtec turbo.

Thanks guys,
AndyD, lol one of my goals is to spend as little of my actual money on this car as i possibly can. Selling off parts from the car has already paid the car off (by that i mean i got my $600 back) and funded the five speed swap. For the record i am not cheaping out in any which way on any parts.
It will be nice to know that i fixed a mess of a prelude and turned it into something better.

trust me, tracking a car with 4ws is not something you want. You do not want your rear tires turning when you are cornering hard. It is amazing to have when it is your unmodded DD. However, it serves this build no purpose.

Got an update for you guys. Today i went and picked up my new ignition and all the lock cylinders including a set of keys for $50
I also got a few interior pieces that i needed for $40 more. Hopefully i get some free time tomorrow to install the new ignition system. Got school starting on the 3rd so we will see. I also got a m2s4 with zero grinds for $100.

LOL I've been tracking my 4WS Prelude for over 4 years now. I've had NO issues with it.
I guess Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi had no idea what they were doing when they designed their cars with 4WS.
