OEM pads not fitting right in Spoon calipers
As the title states. They seem to be moving around and clicking. The Cobalts I run on the track didn't seem to share this problem. Is there a way to shim them to fit snug? Anyone had this problem before? Any help is appreciated

The couple of different pair that I have stuck in mine move around also. These include stock and the Carbotechs. I pretty sure this is normal for them, as there are no shims or spring clips in these calipers. This has not created a problem for me at all.

It seems like I read at one point that you had to bend the tab on the Cobalts to make them fit snugly in the Spoom clappers. I'll see if I can find it again.

spoon pads have the raised notches (at the top of the brake pads) to help combat the looseness. oem etc... do not have the raised notches hence wont fit as snug?
thanx guys
. The GTS pads seemed to work fine with zero movement but as soon as I put the stockers in there they seem to have a bit of play.
Would it be possible to shim it up snug?

I'm pretty sure my brake pads have those little nubs on them. They sit on the inbetween the two cross bars.

I read way back in the day when the owner of that site itrsport.com used to post here.
He had this problem, and came accross a spring in the spoon calipers that needs to be bent slightly in order to keep tension on the pads.
When I had my calipers apart I couldn't find what he was talking baout and his pics from his post were all taken down.
So perhaps have a good look in the spoon calipers to see if you can find what he found.

you can actually cut a small square piece of business card that fits snuggly in the caliper bracket were you get that play and it will go away (this was actually recommended by honda on 04 odysseys when they came out for the same problem until they updated the part number on the caliper bracket slides). make sure you apply grease to the slides when installing pads, thats helps alot with pad movement.
