So I've owned my integra for about eight years by now. I worked on it for the first few years after buying it. I ended up dropping a stock B16 and J1 tranny from Hondamotorsonline, well...Hmotorsonline now, since I'm sure Steve the owner must have gotten a letter from Honda saying that he needed to drop the "Honda"
.
I haven't driven the car in 4 years, but by then it had been dropped on Skunk2 coil overs, KYB red shocks and set up with an ingalls camber kit. It also had received JDM touches here and there, JDM 90-91 front bumper with bumper pole hole (had the pole at one point, but sold it) amber bumper lights, JDM sidemarkers, JDM rear bumber, power folding mirrors, JDM spoiler with long LED and all topped of with a fresh coat of good old Milano red.
The interior had nothing major, just a Sparco steering wheel with momo hub, Field VTEC cotroller (which has been stolen) and a head unit off a 2000 Si, which I got straight from the dealership for $75, which is why I'm so pissed it got jacked.
So after four years of watching it just sit there, I was contemplating selling it, but I didn't have the heart. So now that gas is insane, specially here in Cali, I've decided to bring the DA back to life.
In this thread you'll see the cars's progress, some cosmetic, but a lot will be dedicated to the fresh B17 I'm currently building to drop into it.
Here it is right around the time I stopped driving it, rocking some 16" 5zigen DIV3's.

Here it is as it sits in my driveway, in the beginning stages of having the radiator support replaced. Don't mind the bootleg rims, they'll be gone soon.

Here it is right after, right before I decided to change the head gasket and was horrified as to what I found (cue scary music).

This is a glimps of what is to come...the first of my two B17s, this one has an overbore of .20 and is going to have USDM ITR pistons dropped in, all stuff I got pretty cheap.

This is my second B17, the one actully going in the car, has a standard bore and will have all stock P61 internals, I started putting this guy back together today, so there will be plenty of build pics to come.

So be on the look out.

Thanks man, looks pretty crappy at the moment, but am hoping to get it back up to speed soon.
Stopped driving it because I wanted something more comfortable, with power windows, doorlocks and some A/C...But now with my truck getting 14 MPG's...the 4 bannngerrr is looking damn good!

yeah man, I'd totally kick myself the second I sold it and saw someone else driving it.
This is what calls for scary music....cue scary music again...
If this doesn't give you nightmares, I don't know what will.

So it started late one afternoon. Off came the head...resulting in what is pictured above.

Score right? I win a B17 short block on ebay for $177 bucks! (plus $150 shipping). So what kind of idiot ships a short block 2000 miles and all that is used for packaging is a freaking hefty bag and some rope? I'll tell you what kind of idiot....the idiot I bought my engine off of. Oh yeah, he shipped it on a GREYHOUND bus!...WTF? since when can you do that??

So when I unwrapped the engine, it looked like ****. Covered in caked on oil, dirt....
but after a little simple green and some elbow grease (which was on sale at autozone, the elbow grease, not the simple green)..I got it to this point. Just enough so that I wouldn't wanna puke when I was taking it apart

A look at her backside....meoooooow

So lets start tearing this bitch apart!

Crank looks ok

Pistons and rods look to be ok. I love the "P61" stamped on those bitches, I don't care if the compression is 9:4.

Well, that's what happens when you get lazy and use hose water in your radiator. I'm sure other things factored in as well. The B17 is getting freaking evian and antifreeze from now on!

To get it hot tanked, decked, honed, micro polished and the pistons cleaned up a bit was only $200, which isn't that bad in my opinion.

Using ACL for the main and rod bearing and an oem honda thrust washer. Not planning on boosting this one, since I want it to be a DD. I do have another B17 that I'm going to build over time that I'd actually like to supercharge.
