Default Fuel filter - Something wrong? (Pic link inside)

I am going to replace my fuel filter. I looked at the clear hose that connects to it. and its got something in it...or I think it does. I had a friend come over like a week ago to help me with my last ES insert, and I showed him this...he said its not on his car. Anyway, take a look at the pics in the link (tryin to save h-ts bw )

Should I replace it? Something acura should do under warrenty? is it worth it to just buy a new one if it is under warrenty?

I belive its Part # 16 over at http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net/...L+LINE+%283%29

If it is. Its only 22 bux. Any ideas?

I have no idea. Look on both ends of the tube. One end is connected to a vent under the car and the other end is connected to a clip that is attached to the fuel filter holder. Purpose???????

alright, so that hose is fine. As you can see tho, when I bought my car, the salt ate the paint all over the engine bay. Can I just remove the bracket, sand it, and use a high temp black paint? I dont wannt spend the money for all new parts when I can just paint them.

The fuel filter is rather easy. The hardest part about it is getting the damn nuts out. Make sure you have the right size wrench and socket and you should be ok. You don't realaly need to take out the fuel pump @ all. Just leave the top pressure relieve nut and some fuel will spill out(make sure you have a towel around it before you loosen this up). Took me like an hour or so to replace it. The previous owner never bother replacing it. Good luck with that. If you need help..let me know.

I don't recall. I think it's a 14 mm ? and some other smaller ones around 10 mm. The best thing is to bring a set of wrench and test it out before hand.
