Does anyone have a line on some Kosei K1s?
I hate to post this here and I have already tried the classified section. I am getting desperate as I need to be able rotate through 6 tires (4 used and 2 new) at the next Honda Challenge race but I only have 4 wheels. I have been trying to buy K1s for 5 months now from Tire Rack and they have been on back order the whole time. You gotta be kidding me. What kind of lame *** company is Kosei?
4 x 100 lug in 15" x 7" w/ 38 mm offset. Silver preferred but anything is fine at this point. If I can't find any is it ok to mismatch wheels?
Thanks,
Chris

I don't know if my sponsor shop can help you: KAM Specialties - Reading, PA. Talk to Bryner and tell him Mike Louie sent you. 610-777-9702.
I got my sets of Koseis from him with no problems. Had them in a week, and he could prolly ship them to you.

Thanks Mike. I gave him a call and he is looking for me. But he basically said that Kosei has done this before and he probably can't get them. Unfortunately, I just don't have the money to purchase 6 or more wheels of some other brand.
Chris-
Aren't your current wheels Enkei RP01's? Why not buy 2 more of those? They aren't that expensive at all and Discount Tire should be able to get them to you quickly...

I emailed you one option...
What about wheeloptions - http://www.wheeloptions.com - they sell K1's, but are in CA.

Thanks Jeff, I did email that guy from the Parts Trader. I called Wheel Options and they actually said the K1s are discontinued. I asked him about that and he said after 6 months of being on back order he figures they must not be producing them anymore. Evidently there are some real geniuses running that Kosei company.
Yeah, thanks Karl. You H3 guys are always looking out for my best interest.

Actually...I wonder if they were losing their asses on those wheels. Seems to be a decent quality wheel that is light and cheap...how many of those are available? Not many. Perhaps this was a "Price Point" wheel such that they could get their name in peoples minds...and then start marketing higher end stuff?
Just speculation from someone who has spent WAY too many hours in product marketing and strategy meetings...
I believe it's only the 15's in that particular offset that are hard to come by. Basically, what all the autocross/rr people are running.
Chris, I know it's probably not what you'd prefer to do, especially since you just bought the K1's, but have you considered selling them and switching to something like a Superleggera or something similar. It would be slightly more expensive, but at least you could buy more when/if you wanted to. Or maybe a Volk Gram light... about the same price.

I have 2 K1s in Anthracite in 15X7 38 offset and 4x100. They are in perfect shape with 2 track days on them. No dings or dents, make offer. BTW, to answer your question, i had no problem mis-matching wheels, i ran the K1s up front with GSR wheels out back and had no problems.

Bump. Just trying one last time. Am I right in thinking that there are no 15 x 7 wheels on earth that will fit an integra in an offset around 38mm? I can't find anything at all other than the Koseis and those can't be had as far as I can tell. What a PITA.
Edit: I am looking at the Superleggera though. Thanks Jeff.

I e-mailed you this from HP.com, but I don't know if you got it, so I'll post it here too. I don't know if it's something you want to consider, but http://www.1010tires.com has 15x7 Enkei RP01s for $153.99 (compared to $149 for the K1s on tirerack). I searched by car type, so they should fit on a GSR, but they don't list the offset. On a wheel weight list, I saw the Enkeis listed at 14.3lbs, roughly a pound heavier than the K1s. Hope that gives you a last resort at least.

[EDIT: The picture 1010tires has is a five lug, but the Enkei site has a 4 lug
