Official EF/CRX Jacking Points
Okay I though it would be helpfull to post up the helm manuals Jacking and support points.
Let me start by saying the jacking points are different than the lift/hoist points, and since most people don't have lifts/hoists in their garages I will focus on using Floor Jacks.
ALWAYS use Jack stands, Never trust a jack !
Quotes are from the helm manual
Here is the "jacking bracket"
This is the rear "jacking bracket"
(these jack stand points are also the lift/hoist points)
This is a jack stand(and lift/hoist) support point
There are 4 of these support tabs one in each corner, behind each of the front tires and in front of each of the rear tires.
*With Aftermarket Crossmembers, make sure they can be used to jack up the vehicle, try contacting the manufacturer. I have heard of some folks using them without any problems and others that dont use it because the design of the bar. (please chime in if you have personal experience)
Now some people will say to use the tow hooks in the front and back but they can bend and they are not a "recommended" jacking point.
Also some will say that using the front crossmember as a jacking point isn't a good idea, and this may be true for those who have notched their crossmembers to fit larger headers, or crossmembers that have been bent bad or damaged in accidents. So if either applies to you Take note.
also I have heard people say that their jacks have slipped off of the front crossmember. I dont know if this is due to bad aim (not centering the jack) or damage to the "jacking bracket" (maybe being flatened), and/or the floor jack's "platform" being too small?

Re: Official EF/CRX Jacking Points (grog)
hey, its true! some people that just dont know how to jack car up! i just noticed the other day, my passenger floor has quite a hump near the door! when i went under to check it out, it looks as if that person jacked the car up from the point! pushing up the floor panel! now i gotta pound that ish back down in order to install my dropforward bars properly before i head out to the track!
i also have the inovative crossmember, i only jacked it up once and to me, i didnt feel to safe doing it, it looked stable but i just dont trust it unless someone from inovative knows for sure that its aight to do so!

I had the same problem . I didn't notice it when I bought it but when I got it home and started going threw it I noticed the passenger floor was bent up. So I straightened it back out with a big rubber mallet and you can't notice it now but how do you not know your F'ing stuff up when you can see your floor board bending????

i dont know dude, some people just dont have a clue! thats why i think its good someone posted this thred. im sure you would hear some creaking or notice that the car is slightly not goin up with every lift of the jack! you would clearly see if this is happing, especially with the amount of hump that was added to my floorboard!
yeah, i didnt notice it until i was trying to install my cage! i was pulling the carpet and i was like wtf??? oh hell nah!

agreed. it's better than 2 pages of arguing over correct jacking points.

I am not speaking on behalf of Innovative, but one of their CAD designers is a buddy of mine and he has informed me it's okay to do so. I usually jack the car up, slip in the stands and I'm off of the crossmember in a hurry. Overtime of course, if you keep jacking the car up by the crossmember, I'm sure that metal bar could show some signs of bending.
Otherwise, I've been jacking up my rex by the xmember for years

Re: Official EF/CRX Jacking Points (nickrps)
Front/Rear jacking points ftw . When I used to work for a shop whenever we'd get a car on stands for bodywork we'd always only use the front/rear jacking points. It's a lot safer this way, especially if your car has a lot of rust.

Lol, sadly a lot of Honda owners don't know this despite the fact that it's explicitly written in the service manuals.

thanks for that dude! yeah, when i jacked it up by the xmemember, i put the 2 jackstands on the side then of course let off on the xmemember a bit till the car sat on the jack stands, once it was sturdy, i left the jack right under the xmemember just for support incase god knows what if on of the jack stands fail, i would still have the jack holdn up the xmemember

Re: Official EF/CRX Jacking Points
I hate bumping old threads, but I need this question answered.
I brought my car into work today to put it up on a lift, but my 89 Si's rear jack points are all rusted out. I ended up doing work on the ground because of it. I want to know how I can lift my EF even though the stock points are rusted out.
Anyone got tips? It seems weird to me that such a sturdy point would rust all the way out. Go go northeast!

EDIT: i googled it and thought about it and the best way too do it is to repair the jacking points. Or try to get by using ramps instead of jacks.

Re: (LowFlyin')
Well some people haven't been working on cars their whole life and are just getting started. Gotta help every one, not just experts like yourself () I don't think your input was really needed, and mine either for that matter.

Sweet write up. I knew about these, but I'm sure a lot of people dont. The rear tow hook is also the jack point, i would have never thought that if never researched prior to using it as so.
