this is a warning to all the people on this board, so please read this. 1 Fast R (Chris Sartor) and I had made an agreement to trade our front lips, his spoon lip for my oem type r lip. The trade was suppose to be a straight trade, all i had to do was sand down the lip of mine which was painted red, and prep it for him. My lip was brand new, but it had been painted red because it was going to go on my car. So i took my lip to MOB and had them sand it down and prep it. We arranged to both send out our lips, I sent mine out airborne express next day air as a courtesy, which ended up costing me well over a hundred dollars. Chris made up some excuse that he couldn't find a box and that he would just wait for mine and send me his lip in my box. So he gets my lip, and then starts to tell me his mom doesn't approve of the trade. I asked him more than a few times before if he was certain he wanted to trade, and he was positive he wanted to. So now he says he is going to have to send my lip back, but can't do so until next wednesday. So I am out a bunch of money and wasted a bunch of my time. And to top it off, I now have to have the lip repainted so that I can put it on my car.
My message to everyone is that Chris {1 Fast R} is just a kid who can't think on his own, his parents are repsonsible for him and everything that is done to his car. So I recommend not doing any sort of business with him, or else you will end up screwed over like me.
1 Fast R you've just made my list.

 

Dude that sucks - he should have to pay your shipping charges and the cost to get your lip repainted at least...

this is the letter his mom wrote me:
The lip we received yesterday has been mounted not once but at least twice, it has been prepped and primered at least twice. This is obvious to the naked eye since the prepping has removed part of the gel coat and fiberglass cloth is now exposed; causing the integrity of this product to be compromised. As for the mounting and remounting, this is made evident by obvious markings around each hole on the lip. Our agreement was as follows: We would receive a new lip you had purchased and had prepped and primered. This new lip was purchased by you because following a minor accident on the track your lip had
been damaged, and there was a question as to whether it could be repaired. The body shop (?) MOB, where you had taken your vehicle for paint and repairs was able to fix your
damaged lip to your satisfaction, therefore, you no longer needed the new one. The mode of shipping was your choice, not mine. We are willing to reimburse the $4.40 paid to Airbourne Express. Your substitution of a used product for a new one cancelled any agreement we had. We will return your lip via Fed Ex at no cost to you on Wednesday, July 17, 2002. Expect a tracking number on that date.

obviously it has been prepped and primered atleast twice, i said it was painted red, so that's once it had to be prepped. I had him strip it down and prep it gaian, so that's twice. Even a brand new itr lip come spainted championship white.

 

sounds like he cant do anything w/o his parents permission which in turn it really isnt his car but his folks are letting him drive their car as a courtesy.
and how can they say his lip was new when it was on his teg....
that doesnt make sense. they should send it next day air only to repay the way you sent the lip to them.

I hope you get your money back man, that totally sucks. You trusted him 100% by sending your lip first and also spending the money to prep it. What does he do in return? Send it back for free shipping. Oh "yay".

its extremely pathetic that he is able and willing to negotiate on his own but is vetoed by his parents. then they have to go and sound educated in giving reasons as to why they refuse to trade. i want to know why having a new lip is such a big deal when it is going to be painted anyways.

I personally think he just had second thoughts on the deal...so this is his way of flaking.

if both made a verbal agreement just go to small claims court

sue for the cost of shipping and court fees

 

well, i have all our internet conversations saved, and I've already talked to a family lawyer and they said it's enough to hold up in small claims court. Once again, another fellow h-t member screws over another member.
