After the first gen b16a swap, i'm running on 1 cylinder. The only operating cylinder is the second one from the left. I have compression #s of 205,207, 208,206 and every cylinder is reciving fire. The only thing i can figure is fuel. Are the fuel injector wires wired differently or could my injectors be cloged. Any other ideas. Here is a pic of the injector wires.

If your compression comes out that much in each cylinder, how do you know that you are running on one cylinder? If the car starts and runs, just runs like ****, then it probably is a fuel problem. I have never done the swap before, but I do remember someone saying that if you have an obd1 ecu then you need to make sure your injectors are obd1 as well, etc. etc. Good luck bud...

 

Fuel.

Start with fuel filter.

 

Only one header runner would get hot so i pulled the other 3 spark plugs and it ran the same. I have an obd1 chipped ecu and obd1 wireing harness and obd1 distributor. The fuel filter is new so i don't think that would be the problem. The spark plug wires are on the same as a b18a1. Do vtec and non vtec distributors fire differently???

 

fuel injectors are very very very commonly clogged.
clean them out with brake cleaner and add somem injector cleaner to the gas tank.


trust me, ask me how I know

 

the fact you are only getting one cylinder running is the reason I say injectors... and its a common problem.

I got all 4 cylinders running now. It was the injectors. They were stoped up. Thanks for the advice about using brake cleaner.

 

break cleanr...can you explain how you did it? my car is running like **** and i found out cylindr one is fukd up...i will just clean the injector and see if it helps...if not i will buy a new fuel filter..then i dont know whats next..any ideas?

When i cleaned the injectors, i filled a small cup with the brake cleaner. Then i let the injectors sit in the brake cleaner for 15 minutes. Then i got an air hose and pushed air through the injectors. Air would only travel in the opposite direction than normal fuel flow but it seemed to do the trick. I don't know if forcing air in the injectors can harm them, but it worked for me.

sweet, glad that trick solved your dilemma! My friend soaked his in brake cleaner for an hour then played around with a q-tip and more cleaner. I dunno if compressed air would be bad / forcing air thru them... but you'll find out soon enough. Cant imagine its so bad though.

well fire ull probally run better times at renoylds. which is near macon kinda. but the nicer track is in commerce.
