Default Best 195/55/15 tires??

Not many choices here.
Is the re010 from the ITR the best in stickiness and handling in this size? How does the Toyo t1-s compare to this (195/55/15)?

All I know is that I will not get another set of Dunlop sp9000 or w10 as they suck big time.

Any other tire worth looking into in this size? (They dont have azenis in this size )

Probably because he plans on mounting them on his stock 6" wide rims.

205's can be mounted on 6" wide rims as well, but I think it would perform better (better sidewall strength) on a 6.5 or 7 inch rim.

I've got 1,000 miles on my T1-S'es and am majorly impressed with them. Maybe its an unfair comparison to the balding 20,000 mile old RE-10's they replaced, but they shine in the rain. Which is more than one can say about the Falken Azenis.

And they are a good $30/tire cheaper than the RE10's. ($127 vs $158)

There are a lot of other good tires out there too, that I wouldn't mind trying. Good Luck!!!

batmobile - who wonders what the Best R Compound Tires are....

I love my RE010's, but I think next time, I will be going Toyo T1-S in the 195. I love the 205 but it gets kind of sloppy on a 6" skinny wheel. It's all a matter of opinion, and this damn topic is just wearing me out. I hope this helps. Get what makes you happiest.

They are a replacement for the w10 (and the w10 suck really bad); I read in one of the links provided that they dont grip as well as the sp9000 and I thought those suck big time also. So from that fm901

Any others have any thing to say about the toyo t1-s compared to the re010s (as it seems that the Re10s are the best? in the size 195/55/15)

Coming from the RE010s, the T1-S does not have as much dry grip (though grip is pretty good) but what I was really disappointed in was the lack of turn in response. The RE010s offer very sharp turn in, whereas the T1-S seems to wait a split second, then turn. I even bumped the pressure as high as 40psi, and it helped but did not match the Bridgestones. I will say wet grip is excellent, and tread life should be 2-3x as long. I will likely not be buying another set.

At one time I saw the Azenis supposedly available in 195/55 but I cant find any evidence of that now. Also, in Canada you can get the Yoko A520 in 195/55 and supposedly the new Yoko ES-100 or whatever its called in 195/55. I emailed Yokohama asking why they dont offer those tires in the US in 195/55(theres gotta be more Tegs in USA that in Canada!) but got a canned response.
