Default JDM DC 4-1 header+2.5" Carsound cat

Is anyone running this header and cat combo on a B16? Did you have any fitment problems? How are the gains?

I'm using the header and an SMS/Carsound cat. Donut gasket and a JDM flange...fits great. The only thing is that the header hangs pretty low. My car is lowered about 2.25" up front, and I have about 3" of ground clearance. I've banged up the header pretty bad, but that wasn't quite my fault. You just need to be aware that as low as your car is, the header hangs even lower. Drive carefully.

And I got my whole exhaust (header, cat, exhaust) replaced at the same time, so I can't really distinguish between the gains from the header, and the gains from the cat, and the gains from the exhaust...you get the idea. Bottom line is there was a noticeable gain, from 4400 rpm up. I'm very happy with everything, except for the ground clearance...which is really in my hands.

I have 2.5" piping too. Yes, the top end is really where it's at .

Notice the dents:

Well Bishop if you are looking for a header that has the same gains as the 4-1 you might want to look into the Comptech 4-2-1. Has the same gain and same price. although it has a 2" collector, but you will have ground clearance.

wasn't there a stipulation with the results from the comptech header from the great header test. something about them having to use a 2.5" test pipe to connect to the 2.5" exhuast they were running? If thats the case the test pipe would be less restrictive than a 2.5" cat thus giving the comptech header better numbers.

Will that header guard work on other JDM headers besides the ITR 4-1?

What is the great header test? Do you have the link to it? Thanks.

Will a 4-1 header for a D16y8 hang that low?

No. The reason these JDM headers hang lower is because they're made for Integras with B18s, not Civics with B16s.

I think you mean they will not D16, cause the JDM 4-1 fits on my B-16 Si.
The JDM 4-1 will fit any b series engines

from what i saw from the great header test, the DC JDM 4-1 w/2.5 Collector, made more pwr & torque over the JDM 4-1!

if ur looking for the test, do a search!
