So what tires to get next?
I'm not done with the azenis yet but I will not be buying them again. I would like something that has more response, quicker response and less slop. what do you reccommend that would fit the stock wheels.
I have been playing with the idea of sumitomos htr z
they have a tread of 160 AA. I had them before on a 85 RX7 and thought they were really great, but thats a completely differerent car. Whats your take?
and will I still get a sloppy feel if I continue to use 205/50/15 or should I goback to 195/55/15 for the acurate/percise feel again?
Or save my pennies and get 16X7 rims (prob rotas, Affordable/light) and slap some 215/40/16 Azenis on that.
does anyone else feel the same way?

I can't say enough good things about the S03s.
Seriously, I gush about them. They are more than everything I could ever want in a daily-driving tire. I'm not so sure about the "205 slop" theory. I used to run AVSis in 205/50s and they sure didn't seem "sloppy." I think it's more a matter of individual tire construction, and possibly weight, than section width, but that's just my opinion. The Azenis are pretty damn heavy...

The sloppiness of the 205's will be less apparent on a wider rim.
The sidewalls are preloaded on a greater slope on a skinnier rim. Wider is better!
Give the Azenis another try on a wider rim (6.5 or 7 inch wide)...that's assuming you have them mounted on the stock rims at the moment.

Sport Compact Car just had a great write up on tires. Gives the different brands and models, and gives short blurb about what characteristics the tire has.
I will say this, DO NOT BUY RE-730'S. THEY SUCK!!!!

s-03's
Best tire I've ever had.

I really like my Dunlop Sp8k's. I know Sumitomo has the same exact tire but renamed to HTRZ something something...maybe that one you posted is it. Looks to be the same tread pattern. I also really like the S-03's as well. I'm waiting until this fall to try the new tires that are replacing the AVSintermediates. Forgot the name

I have yet to try the SO3 but if the sidewall is anything like the RE730 they are a great tire too. My onbly beef is I prefer the 205/50 over the 195/50.
I like the looks of the new Yokohama someone posted about the other day but at this point I would buy more RE730's over even Azenis's.
Onyx, can you give some reaosns you hate the RE730's so bad? THey stock better than any Dunlop I have owned (SP9k, SP9k), better than Kumho's (712's) by a long shot and have great rain capabilities.
ALso don't get the sumitomos they are just a different version of the Dunlop SP8000 which is an old tire. THe sidewall is too soft and they are really heavy for their features.

So on 15" stock rims which is better 195/50 or 205/50??? Im planning to change my stock Brigestones (RE010) to Falken AZENIS, is this a good move or buy something else (for street racing!!)
Best tire in this price range in my eyes..
I had them last year and cornering felt great. Better than my actual Dunlop 9000.
Avon ZZ1
Avon tires? I don't think Avon tires are available in North America, are they? Who makes them?

In the latest evo mag, the avons they tested came in dead last. Every one of the other 7 tires won at least one of the tests they gave the tires, and the avon didnt win any. By the way, the winner was the goodyear f1.

seeing as how you've been rockin' the 4 for $100 tires on all of your other rims..I'd say yeah..best tires you've ever had

does anyone have a webite that has weights for tires ?
I think its sloppy due to the wieght and to wide for stock wheels.
I like the idea of Avon tires, but getting them here for a reasonable price?

The only thing I don't like about the S-03 is the weight. It's quite heavy. The 195/50R15 felt like 4 lbs heavier than the stock 195/55R15.
Can someone maybe put them on a scale? And someone the RE-010s?
