these was suppose to be the 500hp+ i only had 474hp on my b16a motor. DONT buy TCI. they wont even replace them for me. and try to charge my 900 for another set.

 

how old are those? they don't look like tci's. the ones I know of are red boots and not painted

also, TCI or not. that looks like a preload/abuse issue. looks like you just rev it up and dump the clutch.

 

I have a spline here next to me that looks just like that. It was from a life time replacement axle from Advance Auto Parts $40.00 Looks like someone painted them and told you a story...

Were you the person who bought them from TCI ?

 

look at the paint on the shaft, its cloudy/blotchy in some parts and transparent in others, and its flaking like no other.
10 dollar rattle can job IMO.

 

i got them off a member on here. allspooledup on the for sale http://www.hondamarketplace.co...22061 payed the guy 575. which is cheap for the set. i guess i got had. the other side is a 36mm spline and came with new hubs and wheel studs. they guy does not answer any of my pm's anymore.

 

i did that same thing to a set of factory axles...except it just twisted, didnt break off completely

 

i've seen this happen to stock axles before with lots of traction and a high rpm launch...

why would axles be rated for horsepower rather than torque?

 

its just a rating..and its not like at 499hp it will hold and 501hp it will break.. just use them to get close to what set you need, then ask people who have used the different sets on different cars to be sure.

i just installed a new set in my buddys car and they were not painted and had red boots.

Can anyone with these tci axles for hondas vouch for any of there products i bought there axles they gave me the wrong hubs and i shipped them right back. they didnt even know there was a difference in honda hubs.

 

FWIW, these are also TCI axles. you can notice the same grooves in the axle as the OP'S blue axles. these were purchased sometime around ~2002-2003

 

Hey Dave as far as I knew, they came like that for 2 years.
You could get Yellow, Red or Black depending on what you went with. Then they chnged the finish and had the colored boots.

I can vouch for at least 650whp to them on there 500hp+ set up with no problems. They are clueless on the hub deal though, they did the same to me. I am running crappy civic brakes to make it work. thank god for the chute

I"ll had stock oem axles for the longest time before they broke on me. never had a problem for 3 years with 562hp then finally gave out when i get bigger slicks. i never had a problem with my friends dss 2.9 axles. rated for 475hp with the new big slicks

 

i belive the yellows were rated for much less than 500. im thinking 350 or so.
