Not much to the story. This came off my friend's ls/vtec. Happened during break in period. Motor never saw anything more than 5500 rpms or anything less than 94 octane for 3000 miles. No audible pinging, no detonation. The head miraciously wasn't damaged bad at all. The nicks on the dome of the piston are from the piece of the ring that pushed its way up the piston.

Oh gosh sorry to hear that. I was told NEVER USED TOTAL RINGS, they are good but they will rob hp. This quote was strictly from the guy at "NORTHWEST PERFOMANCE" you know the one with white looking funny intergra. It was in Turbo mag.
