i did 201 whp with a cat

honestly,i would dyno and tune to see where your at right now. i think it would be a big improvement. ive seen really good #'s from a strong motor and a good tune.at least youll know where you stand then go from there to meet your goals. no need to over do it on the parts list when you dont have to.
but a dyno rental cost $ so its what you can afford,i know how that goes

211whp right here
but GSR block with ITR pistons if it counts....
DNR ported b16a head, skunk stage 2 cams, ebay tri-y header,JG port matched manifold, stock tb, stock injectors
211whp @ 9,200 tuned at CTRdynospot

a tuned itr from the dyno's ive seen are around 180hp. you can find a used set of ctrs for 300-350$. i think those and a good header would be a good start since you seem pretty happy with it now.
tune the stock motor and youll be impressed

Any bottom end work is out of the question - but some well thought out head work and inexpensive tuning might be a good option.
The word inexpensive and looking for more power can not be used in the same sentence. lol. Either way it's gonna cost you money. Cams, upgraded valvetrain and a good tune will help get you there.

i did 191 on a stock jdm type r 00spec motor with a cut open aebs intake manifold and a high tech copy tri-y header made good power to 8400 solid power band, with a stock ecu.
210whp here probably more...
anythings possible..
headwork makes the power, a good combo of bolt ons, headwork, cams tuning etc etc it all has to work in conjuction to make good power.. dont half *** it.
you want to have fat power band? Get ready to spend money..dont get knock off ****..get the real deal.

every single day.
def. possible to get to 190-200 on a stock bottom end JDM itr.
if you are not looking to spend alot of money. is headwork still in the equation? thats about 1500-2000 right there w/ valvetrain, valves, and cams, gears, new seals.
I use a portflow head, s2s2 cams, toda header and hondata. and its over 200whp with 11.5:1 compression ratio.
I reccomend a 3" exhaust and 2.5 test pipe if you have a tuner that knows what he's doing
dont forget a lightened flywheel to make it rip

numbers can be achieved but its not going to be "cheap", you cant buy a ebay header and call it a day'
i made 199whp while running a bit hot
00itr motor, stock bottom end & head'
skunk2 stage 1 cams
skunk2 6 bolt cam gears
aem cai w/velocity stack
70mm tb
ported intake manifold
profab header
pretty basic set-up, ill be hoping for more after i decide on which cams i want to run next and if/what headwork ill have done'

Says the magical butt dyno
To the OP:
A stock ITR bottom end can make over 200 WHP with the right supporting modifications and good tuning.

I don't daily drive an ITR, but I daily drive my gsr with jdm ITR internals in the bottom end. My car makes 203 whp : jdm ITR pistons, oem rods and rings, oem Honda headgasket, gsr head, ITR valves, mild port/polish, Blox s2 cams, titanium retainers, springs, rc 440s, Hondata s200, s2 i/m, comptech shortram/icebox, tri-y header, 2-1/2" - 3" exhaust, etc.. You can definately make over 200 whp with a stock block ITR. With a similar build to mine, plus a ported i/m to match a larger throttle body and maybe a little more headwork, you would most likely be closer to 210 or 215 whp... Driveability is definately not a problem with these builds.

That specific tune and combo Aquafina is talking about was dyno'd on a Dynapack at CAT. 228 whp sounds about right for that setup.
This is my motor on the same dyno with a similiar setup, but with s2s2 cams and portflow headwork

damn thats nice power. wonder how much more power doing a p/p gives? im gonna see what I can do with out that but with pro1s... just trying to justify doing it
I've seen 210-219 hp with bc3's, s2s2, or pro1's on 11-11.5:1cr 1.8's no headwork coming out of Church's
the same motor in the dyno i posted hit 200 on stock port, and ctr cams. it hit 228 with headwork and s2s2's so, roughly 25-30 hp from cams and headwork on the CAT dyno
figure about a 7-10% difference from CAT's dynopack to a local dynojet depending on the dyno
