Default Spoon: 4pots & sw388s

As some of you may have already know, Spoon 4pot calipers will not clear their 15" +42mm offset wheel (the only offset available in 5x114.3 & 15").

If other people say different, they're wrong.

So I was originaly told by AJ-Racing that an 8mm spacer would be needed. Then a little later on they said 7mm. However hard I tried, I was not able to readily find any spacers with either of those two widths. And not wanting to use cheap PepBoys spacers I was pretty much stuck

So I had a 3mm generic spacer lying around the house, and picked up a pair of 5mm H&R spacers from Travis "ITR231". And together they combine for a total of...(finger counts the numbers again)...8mm

Here are the results. After the 8mm spacer(s), the clearance between the caliper and rim (spoke) is about 2~3mm. I probably could have gotten away with a 6mm spacer if I shave the SPOON NISSIN insignia. But who'd want to do that right?

Just buy a 10mm spacer and have it machined on a lathe to whatever size you want it to be..... if you want it 1 piece that is.....

I find it funny that their own rims can't clear their own brakes.

Mario, you have more room between your caliper and rim than I do, and I have the 16"

Probably because they make neither.

That looks great... but, I would rather run different 15" rims than having to use spacers.

perfect...8mm is perfect, don't go less than that. And there is nothing wrong with spacers. Go to any race and you're bound to find cars running wheel spacers.
