Default Rear LCA Bolts Discontinued?

Rear LCA bolts were stuck and a 6000lbs press couldn't get the suck bolt out.
Ordered some new OEM LCAs however, I can't find these bolts anywhere.
I've been seeking for these bolts from just about every Honda parts vendor/dealer however they all claim it's discontinued with no ETA???

Can somebody PLEASE assist me with where to get these bolts?
90173-SR3-003 (92-95 Civic)

Does anybody know WHY Honda discontinued these bolts?

I'm going to try Napa and Auto parts tonight but, I prefer OEM.

go to the junkyard and snag some.. and they shouldnt be discontinued cuz civics from 88-00 use the same bolts.. if u want brand new try an acura dealer too.. integras from 90-01 should use the same ones too.. or try http://www.slhondaparts.com/

I tried SLHonda, hondapartsdeals, majestic, etc...
They all allow me to place an order online, but within 5-10 mins comes an e-mail saying it's discontiuned/backordered with no ETA.
Same goes for Acura dealerships....

I'm from a part of town where there's ABSOLUTELY NO HONDAS in junkyards.
I need all 4 bolts.

If anybody can find these bolts in they're area please let me know.
My car's fresh out the booth just sitting in the shop due to these bolts.

Honda designed these bolts specifically for LCA and hardware stores in my area don't carry them. And I'm NOT going to throw in some lower grade bolts in there either.

I don't understand how they could discontinue a part that's notorious for getting stuck/seized.

Yea hondapartsdeals was charging me $24 for all 4 bolts.
Although I need these bolts ASAP, I'm keeping all my options open.
Appreciate your help Joon, get at me if you happen to pick em up

No luck with Napa.
No luck with Parts Plus.
Going to try Auto Value tomorrow.

Still can't believe finding bolts for LCAs became so complicated.
2years ago I could walk in any Honda/Acura dealership and pick them up....

Sorry to hear your woes. I'm having a similiar issue with the passenger side rear lca. I can't ge tthe darn bolt out. I was going to take the car to a shop and have them try with a larger compressor and gun but I might have to have them cut.

OP. Go to a bolts supply house, they will have them for sure. It's a metric threaded bolt, M? if you have one of them bring it to match. Get a bolt with the same grade or higher. Use Anti sieze before you put it back on.

DONT just get the highest grade bolt you can. That is not a good idea. As bolt grades go up, bolts get stronger, but more brittle. There is a reason honda chose the grade bolt they did. Although in a double shear application like the LCA, it does not matter as much, I would still replace like with like.

That's what I'm talking about

Ordered some bolts from various hardware stores to see if any of them meet my standards. We'll see how it goes...

The bolt is M10(12mm, 1.25 pitch) X 80mm(length) which I believe is CLASS 10.9.
I have no idea how to convert metric to english, vice versa.

Appreciate all the inputs.

Good call targa, I was about to recomend them.

I have not crawled under my car in the past few days to look, but if the head is stamped 10.9, then you should order that bolt from mcmaster carr and they will have it to you super fast.

So, order a 10.9 grade bolt from mcmaster carr

*edit* part number 91180A654 is the bolt you want but in zinc, I did not see a black oxide... That *should* be ok since I am pretty sure the honda bolt is zinc coated too. And hydrogen embrittlement is not very common.

*edit 2* or if you have to have them today, fastenal will have what you need...

Wait so you're saying,
CLASS 10.9 = GRADE 10.9 ??

Class 10.9 is equal to Grade 8.

Some info:

I can't believe they discontinued these.

These bolts are actually on backorder... But if you go to a honda dealer you should ask to if they can put in a CBO in for the bolt... I work for a honda dealer I just finished looking it up for you.... I dont have these bolts in stock if you have any question or ever need anything i'll be more than glad to help out...

Try getting them from like a hardware store...

I figured so. I was pretty sure they hadn't been discontinued, but I didn't get a chance to make the phone call today to verify.

I believe you will need to provide the VIN of your vehicle to flag the order as an "emergency," correct?

When you need parts ASAP and they're backordered with no ETA it's pretty much the same thing as discontinued for me..but thanks for clearing that up and sorry about the confusion.

After numerous trips around the whole town, I found identical bolts thanks to my co-worker.

Appreciate everybody's help

I had no problem ordering my replacement LCA bolts last spring from my local Honda stealership. Took a couple days but that was it.

Where did you find your replacement bolts at locally? Any pictures?

Sorry, no pics as they are bolted on the car already.
I found them through Auto Value.
They didn't have them in stock, but came through next day.

My boss gets dealer pricing

alright i want to make sure this is right.

are you trying to get the NUT off or the BOLT. casue the NUT is welded on.

i just ordered LCA bolts from hondapartsdeal.com

only reason im askign about the bolt.nut is i have known so many people that didnt know that the nut is welded on to the shock.

The rear shock bolts(93600-06014-0H) and LCA bolts(90173-SR3-003) are different.
Both do NOT use any nuts.

The shock bolts are NOT backordered or discontinued.

For future reference,
check your local Auto Value for rear LCA bolts (to save time), or you can find them at hardware stores if you look hard enough.
