I going to do a write up on the difference. Your better off with a gps unit with stealth install vs lo-jack. Lo-jack install is crappy and they only put it in a couple location. And the thieves always brake the car down to find it. And then its all over. Plus with gps you know the exact addy were the car is going. With lo-jack you don't know and have to find it. Lo-jack is a beacon and does not tell were the car is. So a cop has to drive around till the signal get stronger. And the police department has to have a lo-jack equip car to find the signal. With gps you get realtime tracking of the car. And the theives won't have time to do anything but get caught because were ever that car is going you are allready on top on recovering the car because the gps unit will call your phone withen two mins of the alarm going off or the car moved. so by the time theif gets to his house, garage or chop shop there busted. No if ands or butts

between the 2, gps of course. good unit can update you within seconds and to your cellphone. lojack shouldn't even be branded as its handled 100% by police department, you just sit there and wait, hoping its going to work, even at that point, its still up to police dept to contact you in timely manner. if your unable to recover your car right away and i mean within hours or even less, chances are its going to have lots of damage/missing parts. either one is worthless if its disabled during theft.. take time to protect your install from being disabled as easy.. i tell you whats better but not worth the money.. having both.

having both is not a bad ideal, Just more layers. The more the better. I would do the gps first and then the lo-jack.
