Front upper control arm ball joint
While I was driving today, started hearing this knocking. Thought maybe it was the steering rack which could of rattled loose but that didnt seem to be it. But we seemed to figure out that the noise was coming from this ball joint (see picture).
Seems like an easy replacement....any suggestions or ways to make the ball fit more snug if the ball is fine now.

ok that picture you put up is awesome....so its the upper tie rod end boot. Basically its take the whole arm off, taking the ball-joint then getting a new one a getting it pushed in....and probably getting new energy suspension bushings at the same time.
yeah new ones are 3 bucks.....I guess sometimes you can get away with pounding the new ball joint in, but maybe safe just to get it pressed in. Just my 2 cents.
the best way to pound one in ( i have actually done this) is with a socket....fit it to the outer part of the balljoit and then hit it with a hammer.......I have done many ball joints this way and it seems to work out pretty good......I hate paying for some thing that I could do myself

I was under the impression that you can only get a entire new upper A arm from honda and not the balljoint as separate. I've been told that upper ball joint is welded to the arm and needs to be ground/pressed out. I just bought a new upper A arm from honda for $90. Has anyone every done the ball joint on the upper A arm, or are you guys just talking about ball joints in general?
nah you can just get the ball, not quite sure on how you get it out yet....havent looked at it that close, but i think you might be able to pound it out. Another question. If I need smaller upper arms so my camber kit won't hit the frame, can I use 88-89 integra arms, I heard there shorter and fit.
it doesn't seem like they sell that ball joint alone? the lower ball joint yes. but not that one? check your local dealer to make sure. http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...tcgry5=KNUCKLE
btw, the energy suspension ball joint boots supposably dont hold the lube. just use stock ones.
