Just ordered a Type-R rear swaybar for the RS
I can't wait for the thing to arrive. I also ordered the BSQ mounting kit. How much of a difference will I feel with this swaybar? The only reason that I didn't want to order it for the RS was I think it will bump me into a different (harder) class if I ever get some ***** and go Auto-X. Is this true? Anybody with some tips and or tricks of installation, let's hear them. Thanks a lot

Well you will notice the difference immediately...afterwards you will wonder why all Integras didn't come with the 22mm rear swaybar. The handling characteristics of the car will be vastly improved, because a lot of the body roll and understeer will be eliminated.
You can go to my webpage at http://www.geocities.com/bretq/swaybar_install.html and it will walk you through step-by-step. The only tip that I will give you is on removing the 2 tack-welded nuts. I highly suggest unthreading the ABS sensor bracket bolt approx. half walf and hit it "hard" with a hammer (a big hammer if you have one) about 3-4 time. This is easier than using a chisel and a hammer.

Hey Bret I'm almost positive ALL RS' didn't come with ABS. Not trying to flame cause you know you're the man still.
I don't know what other mods you have but the sway bar would only bump you out of Stock class, because they're allowed in all other classes. (I'm guessing you are going to be in STS).
Oh, you don't need ***** to autox, just to win

Will I have an ABS sensor bracket bolt? I don't have ABS on my car but I can imagine that Honda would mass produce the unibody's meaning that my probably has one. Just checking?

where'd you order the bar from? http://www.ahmotor.com has been on back order for some time....

Check it out. It is a nice site with diagrams of all the parts. It takes awhile if you have 56K (which I have) to view the diagrams.

Quick question Brett, If I install the swaybar on the car, can I take it off later and put the stock one back on? Just checking. Also, do you have any other pictures of the install that you have taken? I'd like to see a picture of the nut that I have to hammer off. I haven't jacked up the rear of my car to look yet and I'm curious. Thanks a ton.
Check BSQ's website for all the needed parts. then copy the parts down and then use the search on the parts site to locate the needed stuff. Laters
can those with this sway bar please chime in on snap oversteer? I'm worried whether or not this is a problem because this is an upgrade that I would also like to make.
i just searched for the sway bar and i didn't find it

). It is not a good idea to brake in a corner when driving aggressively, because this upsets the balance of the car. When you are taking a corner and 8/10 - 10/10 (ie. aggressively) there is a lot of forward momentum which is working against the car while you are turning. No if you apply the brake while turning, you will transfer more weight to the front tires and the rear tires will loose traction, which may cause the car to oversteer. It best to drive through a corner "under power" (ie. constant throttle or accelerating). One more word of wisdom..."slow in, fast out
" (ie. get all of your braking done before you turn and get back on the throttle before you turn). But a lot of times people are "fast in, slow out
" (ie. people carry to much speed into the corner and they are braking in the turn and this cause them to "scrub" speed in the turn, which creates a slower "exit speed").

I can honestly say that in the 4+ years that I have had my Type-R rear swaybar installed, I have never experienced "snap oversteer" or anything remotely close to it. Believe it or not, but I have event tried (eg. highway entrance ramps and abruptly let off the accelerator) and I couldn't cause "snap oversteer". The only time that I have heard of people experiencing oversteer with the Type-R rear swaybar is someone entering a turn way to fast and try to correct by braking (braking in a turn when driving aggressively
).

The best I have found is http://www.rmsolo.org . There's a SCCA autocross at Coor's Field on Sunday. I was thinking about running, but I've never been to an autocross before, so I'm just going to watch this one and see how the experts drive it. Registration for Sunday's event is open until Friday at 10 am, and it's only $35 for non SCCA members to run. They also occasionally have driver's schools too, but I'm not sure how much they cost and I don't see an upcoming one on their schedule. I'm also not sure what they cover in those classes.
I'd also like to go run at Second Creek raceway some time, but that'll be after I get a ITR rear sway bar. It would probably be a good idea to get some instruction on how to drive it before I go out there too.

BTW, Some of the clubs will only other car makes at their HPDE (eg. some Porsche clubs will only allow Porsches).
I would first recommend going to http://www.drivingevents.com (go to the calendar) and check out the HPDE in your area. You can also check out the the following car clubs in your region for HPDE:
Porsche - http://www.pca.org
BMW - http://www.bmwcca.org
Audi Quattro - http://www.quattroclubusa.org
