Carb Cleaner EGR
So did it work? One way you can test if the EGR will open is using some vac on the diaphram side. I just hooked it up my pie hole, and was able to check that my egr valve moved.

Cleaning the EGR helped a bit, its way less hesitation at 2.5-3 k rpms. And the CEL light comes on a whole lot less.

How bout this. I keep un plugging the damn thing and it works great unplugged.
Will the EGR off an h23a1 intake manny fit the h22a?
I have a perfectly good egr on my h23a1 sitting in the other room.

Okay so here is an update on the egr situation. I swapped EGr's and still code 12. Im drilling out the EGR ports on my h23 IM. I guess for practice. Here is the thing. I drilled 4 holes in each port, but there seem to be more than 4 holes that have been welded there are 6. Should all six be drilled. Also Im guessing that the metal they used to weld the ports is diffrent that the metal the intake mani is, cause my drill wont go through the intake mani metal. How big do the holes have to be? And when cleaning out the inside, I guess you can just carb clean everything right out of there, then tap tthe holes and call it clean?
Well I hope you have the intake off the car first. Second I took some pics I posted in another thread.

The 4 ports that are inline w/ the 3 shown are the ones that need to be drilled and tapped. You need to drill through the top into the EGR passage, then use something to clean out the holes that lead from the EGR passage to the intake runners.
Beyond that I believe the only thing that will cause an EGR code is the valve being stuck closed. So if you know that the EGR that you used was working then you may have a vac. leak in the system that prevents the EGR from getting vac. If you clean the ports that dosen't address the problem.

Lol, yeah its off the car. I did it for practice on my intake manny on the H23a1 intake mani. Does it really matter how big the holes are? I used a pretty big dril bit, mabey a 1/4 incher.
I can't remember if the holes to the runners were that big or not, but I think if they were alittle larger they would clog up less. When I did it, I just used some pipe cleaners and the garden hose to open them up.
When drilling into the top part of the egr I was just worried about not making it big enough. I ended up with a 5/16" bolt into the holes I added.
