Default weird shaking at idle?

i have an auto 90 ex and when at idle the whole car shakes...it is very annoying...i am thinking it is the motor mounts but could anything else cause the shaking? the belts are starting to squeak some also but were replaced 2,000 miles ago..the car only has 77K on it? any ideas? thanks

I would check the plugs and wires to see if it is missing....

try raising your idle rpm, it will smooth things out. a normal idle rpm should be around 800 rpm +-50 rpm.

had a similar issue a while back in a 3rd gen. check your CV boots. mine had cracked and the axles had dried out. At idle the steering wheel shook like a ****.

well it might be 1500 rpm when you just turn on your car(your ecu raises your rpm's higher with cold starts to warm up the car faster for you) BUT once your car is at normal operating temperature, you should be around 800 rpm +/- 50 when in idle.

CV boots wont make your car shake at idle because they dont move at idle...as far as I know.

Gennady, you're right. That made absolutely no sense to me at all. My mom's 3rd gen does the same, and I'm gonna turn up the idle speed if they didn't do it at the shop that it's in right now.

My accord used to do this when the tranny was pulling away from
the motor.

Turn the idle screw up,tune up, and it still had a low idle.It would be fine for few days then go back to a low idle.Since then,I have put an adjustable cam gear and pulley's on it and it is smooth as hell.Just my .02.
